‘Stand Up or Step Aside’: Republican Presidential Candidate Calls on Governor DeSantis to Take Action Following News of Potential Trump Indictment
DC Enquirer ^ | March 18, 2023 | Sterling Mosley

Posted on 03/19/2023 10:18:23 AM PDT by SoConPubbie

As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, five senior officials told NBC News that law enforcement agencies are conducting “preliminary security assessments” for the Manhattan Criminal Court in case Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D) brings charges.

In response to this news, President Trump responded, saying that he will be “arrested” on Tuesday:

“Our nation is now third world and dying. The American dream is dead! The radical left anarchists have stolen our presidential election, and with it, the heart of our country. American patriots are being arrested and held in captivity like animals, while criminals and leftist thugs are allowed to roam the streets, killing and burning with no retribution. Millions are flooding through our open borders, many from prisons and mental institutions. Crime and inflation are destroying our very way of life. Now illegal leaks from a corrupt and highly political Manhattan district attorney’s office, which has allowed new records to be set in violence crime and whose leader is funded by George Soros indicate that, with no crime being able to be proven, and based on an old and fully debunked (by numerous other prosecutors!) fairytale, the far and away leading Republican candidate and former president of the United States of America, will be arrested on Tuesday of next week. Protest, take our nation back!”

In response to the news, as previously reported by the DC Enquirer, businessman and rival GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy came out to call for the Manhattan DA to not indict the 45th president.

‘IT REEKS OF… POLITICAL PROSECUTION’: VICE PRESIDENT MIKE PENCE REACTS TO POTENTIAL INDICTMENT OF FORMER BOSS

He explained that if the district attorney did go forward with an indictment of President Trump, it would be “the beginning of the end of the American experiment.”

With Vivek speaking out clearly about the issue, he called upon Gov. Ron DeSantis, who is widely expected to announce a run for the presidency, to voice his opinion, particularly since President Trump currently resides in the state of Florida.

“[T]he ruling party is now looking to use police power to lock up its biggest political rival,” he wrote in response to a tweet sent by the governor yesterday. “The [GOP] donor class favorites have been deafeningly silent about it. Stand up or step aside. Stop being fake.”

Governor DeSantis is the second most popular potential GOP candidate for president and the most popular governor in America. Given that Trump also resides in his state, the Floridan should immediately issue a statement on a potential indictment.

The American people respect Governor DeSantis’ opinion and want to hear what he has to say on this important issue. As of this report, Governor DeSantis has not made a statement on the matter.

Unlike Vivek, Desantis has a full time job and in the middle of Florida’s legislative session. He’ll most certainly comment when something actually happens. Not for posturing purposes to create name recognition above 0.5%.

I like what Vivik says generally, but he’s not a real candidate in the running for anything.

None of that means anything.

It takes all of 5 minutes to craft an intelligent, strong, correct statement on this issue.

DeSantis has FAILED!

Big Political Miscalculation on his and his campaign staff's part.

It’s funny. Trump’s SuperPAC has filed an ethics complaint against Governor DeSantis seeking to have him thrown out of office yet DeSantis is supposed to come riding to Trump’s rescue.

Technically speaking it’s just a rumor at this point. Trump is the only person saying they’re going to arrest him. There’s no reason for DeSantis, or really anybody that’s not just trying to coattail Trump, to comment on a rumor. A rumor that even if true, will probably wind up not true for a while (smart money if they were planning to arrest him is to wait at least a month, just so he looks bad).

You're painting DeSantis as a petulant, hurt little child.

Either he is a mature adult leader, able to put aside silly things like you posted and do the right thing where MAGA, the rule of law, and conservatism is concerned, or HE IS A FAKE!

Which is it DeSantis?!?!

Apparently, everyone else, from the Speaker of the House, Senators, to even Democrats don't have the same opinion as you do as shown by their public statements.

Trump has no business ordering DeSantis to throw his hat in the ring...just because he threw his in...very, very early....much too early. We always got that little break after the mid term elections..not this time

He’s letting Trump stew in those juices not of his own making. What does DeSantis owe him after all those put downs? An indictment would be against all of us. Cruz said vote your conscience. Pence legitimized the election. Linda tried to lose seats with his abortion comments during the election season. Fat Boy Gov. in NJ hugged Obama after the hurricane. Then there’s the impeachment collaborators. Could go on and on.

I see it as helping himself in several ways… had he not failed.

It’s possible that DeSantis will take stronger action. It would be impossible for NY authorities to arrest Trump in Florida without Florida allowing it.

I’m just going to say this. It’s going to apply to DeSantis. But I
am not saying to direct it at him.

Read the comments on this thread. Oh Trump hasn’t even been
arrested yet. Let’s wait until he is to react. Then is so and so
doesn’t do something he’s done.

Forget what so and so does.

How very Republican of everyone.

We never get out front and ward anything off. NEVER! And we’re
even worse after the fact.

We knew things were wrong even prior to Election Day 2020. Did
we ward off the problems. Did anyone call the police when our
people were locked out of the precincts? Did anyone file
complaints regarding massive stuffed ballots. What about any of
the other things? Did anyone document them and go after the
perps later?

Who warded off the Trannies from kids? Who objected to 90% of our professors being Socialists/Communists? Who warded off CRT? Who
warded off the payment to the domestic terrorist networks? Now we’re
playing catch up on everything!

I could go on an on.

Here we are right this minute. Let’s wait until Trump is arrested!

How very Republican! I’m so sick if this s—t!

We have never learned. An ounce of prevention is worth a
pound of cure.

We’re getting our pants beat off us, and here we go again,
just wait,

Elections
Schools
Terrorists
CRT
Our Universities
Trump’s arrest

Has it dawned on anyone yet that our record is zero for XXXX on
reversing anything that is already done?

Yeah, just wait until Trump is arrested before we scream bloody
murder.

We are the biggest bunch of ….ing losers in history.

If DeSantis does this, it will redeem him in everyone's eyes.

But I would not count on it.

He would have already signaled something in this direction if this was his intention.

You ignored an important part of what I said:
or really anybody that’s not just trying to coattail Trump, to comment on a rumor.

I mean we know for sure Dems are all about coattailing their hate of Trump, so they’re right in that group. And you can make your own decision on others.

Only according to the “divide and conquer” trolls here. I plan to ignore them as much as possible.

Actually it’s really EASY for authorities to arrest Trump without Florida even getting an opinion. Sure not New York authorities. But stuff like this is literally why the Marshall service exists.

Apparently President Trump didn't think it was just a rumor, he got it from legitimate multiple sources.

I think I will trust the President who, up to this point, not lied to me and kept his promises over someone who is trying to defend the inaction of DeSantis.
