ChatGPT Boss Sam Altman Hopes AI Can ‘Break Capitalism’
Breitbart ^ | 4 Feb 2023 | Lucas Nolan

Sam Altman, the CEO of ChatGPT creator OpenAI, recently spoke to Forbes in an interview about the future of AI and the development of ChatGPT which Altman hopes could one day “break capitalism.”

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman was recently interviewed by Forbes magazine about the company’s progress and future plans. OpenAI is considered to be the hottest and most scrutinized startup in the rapidly growing generative AI category. In the interview, Altman talked about the company’s journey and its meteoric rise of its first product, ChatGPT. The AI chatbot has proven controversial due to its absurdly woke politicized responses, such as waxing poetic about Joe Biden and demonstrating leftist bias on a wide variety of popular topics.

“However it is pointless to whine about it. It’s not going away.

People should consider how to use it to their advantage”

You sound like Jews in Germany in 1933 talking about Adolph.

ChatGPT Boss Sam Altman Hopes AI Can ‘Break Capitalism’

Is he saying that he opposes the voluntary exchange of goods and services and financial transactions between consenting parties?

Still waiting for an actual scientific analysis of how a gas that comprises 0.4% [...] causes climate change.

You are off by an order of magnitude: The concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere is roughly 400 ppm.

That is 0.04%.

The water vapor present (in varying concentrations) in the atmosphere has a greater greenhouse effect. So the logical thing to do would be to cover the world's oceans in plastic sheeting, to prevent evaporation!

Regards,

The climate cult would tell you that covering only the lakes in the USA would change everything.

Because, you know, virtue signalling. ;)

Plants can never seem to grow as much as they are designed to grow due to the low supply of CO2.

Ask it to show studies that prove drag queen story hours are harmful to children. If you think it isn’t biased after it tries to convince you that you that the OPPOSITE is true, then you are a woke, liberal plant - and in that case the label of ‘idiot’ is apropos.

You might want to read a couple of my thousands of posts going back 2 decades before saying something silly like I might be a liberal plant. I will read lots more of the AI stuff and it is entirely possible that you are right. I just haven’t seen it in the hundreds of conversations I have had with it. But liberal plant? I guess I was planted 23 years ago and waited until today to reveal my secret to disprove YOU. LOL. Liberal plant. Maybe you are a house plant.

Computers are only as good as the person programming them. I’ve seem some pretty crappy results in my day from software that wasn’t tested or verified well. AI is no different and subject to extreme bias of it’s creator. The problem is the biased MSM is going to proclaim it to be without bias just like all the dorks they have giving opinionated news on CNN and MSNBC.

FR is filled with gullible people who prefer never to read more than a headline.

Sam Altman has stated that he loves capitalism. He thinks it can be improved upon.

There are plenty of us around here who consider the concept of a UBI to be somewhat compatible with free-market capitalism. Personally, I believe it is connected to intellectual property or, as I prefer to call it, artificial property.

Intellectual property predates America in British common law and is encoded into the Constitution as a power reserved to the federal government through laws written by Congress and treaties made by the president and ratified by congress. But this property borrows value from the people and their natural rights (e.g. the right to copy a method or device that embodies someone else’s innovation).

The people should be justly compensated for the “limited time” suspension of their natural rights. UBI could be tied to taxes on IP, levies, or even the GNP. For it to work, it cannot be means tested. The only test must be whether the recipient is a citizen and under the appropriate taxing authority. Perhaps residency should be a factor.
