Anne Holton, wife of U.S. Sen. Tim Kaine (D-VA), denounced the Declaration of Independence and Constitution as “fundamental in enshrining slavery.”
Holton made the comments as Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s (R) new history standards were approved 5-3 by the Commonwealth’s Board of Education, upon which she sits. She said:
To an audience as inclusive as our Virginia is, you cannot reference the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution as ‘remarkable documents’ without also acknowledging that they [are] fundamental in enshrining slavery, and limiting the protections that they provided only to white property-owning men.

I'm having a hard time understanding what you are saying here. The US constitution had a clause in it requiring freed slaves to be returned to their masters. (Article IV, Section 2) It prohibited banning the slave trade until 1808.
Lincoln and his Republican allies even tried to amend the US constitution to protect slavery indefinitely. This was the Corwin Amendment.
The US Constitution had nothing to do with eradicating slavery.
That is incorrect. The Declaration of Independence listed as one of the causes "he hath excited domestic insurrections amongst us." Speaking specifically about slave rebellions.
The US constitution specifically required escaped slaves to be returned back to their masters.
In 1776, *ALL* states were slave states, and in 1787, the vast majority of states were still slave states.
THAT’S WHAT I WANT TO KNOW.

If all aspects of our country are to be dissolved like the constitution . Bill of rights, etc. Then there can be no constitutional rights that can be violated.

It’s worth noting that she’d probably be Second Lady if the election of ‘16 had been successfully stolen.
She would have to disallow any of the amendments. Slavery gone but women’s voting added, for instance.

You can legitimately make that argument about the Constitution. After all it did have a 3/5ths clause, a fugitive slave clause and had a 20 year grandfather clause for allowing the slave trade to continue.
The Declaration of Independence however had no such language so any claims of “racism” or slavery in the Declaration of Independence are simply false. She needs a history lesson - or to at least READ the Declaration of Independence which she plainly has not done.
