The White House on Friday said it has already approved around 16 million Americans for student debt relief ahead of Supreme Court debate on whether or not the program will be allowed to proceed.
The White House revealed the figure in a press release, noting that around 26 million individuals were poised to receive student debt relief in September of last year, and that “over 16 million of those borrowers’ applications were fully approved by the Department and sent to loan servicers.”
The program was put on pause in November when the Supreme Court ordered a halt to the proceedings as it considered lawsuits critical of the forgiveness plan.
The high court is expected to hear arguments regarding the plan on Feb. 28.

NO!!
* what is a word that best describes an individual’s state of existence when 100% of his or her income is taxed?
I agree, except the directions should be, “GO TO HELL.”
Just look at the sex perverts let loose in the public schools.
This all amazes me. The infrastructure for that has been carefully layed down over a long time in silence.
And who would have ever believed that parents would put up with it for one second.
No matter...It’s solid evidence that Biden is acting beyond his authority
Maybe Biden will forgive the US debt?
Let’s see now. My wife and I went to college, worked summer jobs and took out student loans. Had them paid off by 1988. Is this deal retroactive? Does this mean I am going to get a check from Joe? I’m not holding my breath.
Heroes Act
“To raise and support armies, but no appropriation of money to that use shall be for a longer term than two years.
“allows the Secretary of the US Department of Education to waive or modify any statutory or regulatory provisions...”
No need for a “stinking” Congress
Let me know when the the taxpayers go into full-blown tax revolt and quit paying these sorry bassturds a penny..... /s
“As of March 2020, 60 national emergencies had been declared, with 31 of them being renewed annually. These include the eight that were declared prior to the passage of the 1976 Act. The longest continuing national emergency dates back to November 1979 by the Carter administration blocking Iranian government property under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act.”
“Since passage of the National Emergencies Act in 1976, every U.S. President has declared multiple national emergencies: Carter (2); Reagan: (6); H.W. Bush (4); Clinton (17); W. Bush (12); Obama: (13); Trump (7)”

That is the other way laws are passed these days.
Find a friendly party to sue the government in front of a friendly judge and then settle the case agreeing to some sort of “consent decree”, create some new rules instantly and act accordingly.
They actually think it's a win because "something something 2024 optix".
What they don't realize, is that wasted time and money occupied those marxist mandarin grifters in the White Hospice and thus kept them from creating other harm that might actually have been actionable.
Bidendropov is going to have a really shitty 2023, most of it unforced error. Schadenfreude.
Have you read "Equity is the New Communism — The Left is using equity to seize control over every American institution" today? It is well worth reading.
Daniel Greenfield makes that exact point. We are witnessing in real time the communist "long march through the institutions" as laid down by Rudi Dutschke around 1967 to describe his strategy for establishing the conditions for revolution: subverting capitalist domination of society by entering institutions such as the professions, education, government, and companies. We've been sleepwalking through all this, asleep at the switch. Some of us saw it, but whenever we raised the alarm, we heard nothing but cries of "Racist! Conspiracy theorist! Intolerant! Denier!"
People are waking up, but the deep entrenchment of the new approach of "equity" means it may be too late to save us.
I am so impressed that DeSantis is going after woke and equity. Trump tried to "drain the swamp" which was a noble ideal, but he missed the bigger picture of the threat of woke and equity. Say what you will about DeSantis, but he is a fighter and taking the battle to the real enemy.
If they go back to the banks then there has to be some sort of bankruptcy process. The interest rates on those loans would be higher than the rates on used cars outside military bases.
There really isn’t a solution that doesn’t put half the colleges in this country out of business. Not saying that is a bad thing….
“Trump tried to “drain the swamp” which was a noble ideal, but he missed the bigger picture of the threat of woke and equity. Say what you will about DeSantis, but he is a fighter and taking the battle to the real enemy.”
Noble ideal???
Have you never heard of MAGA? Do you know the full ramifications of that? That negates wokism and equity.
Trump has been warning about all that for years, about taking down statues and hiding history, issued an executive order for the building of a memorial of American heroes, (Biden stopped that first few days in office), etc. DeSantis can’t bring up a concept that Trump hasn’t already brought up.
CHUMPS! That’s all we are.
Federal Government OUT OF EDUCATION!! They have ruined it top to bottom, K-College. Their efforts to make it “affordable” predictably had the exact opposite outcome. Their efforts to make sure everybody has a college degree means that the college degree these days is the same as an 8th grade diploma 90 years ago.
Trump could have worked to abolish the two DOEs, but he didn’t. He jousted with the FBI, CIA and other Deep State entities. And he paid the price for taking them on. Crushing that Fourth Branch was a noble, but, in the end, futile exercise. If he had killed those two departments, we might have better non-woke education and abundant energy.
Perhaps a group lawsuit by the banks.
Of course, he is. He’s a ruthless dictator, who believes that he is above the law.
He has to get the money from Congress bookie not taking bets.
