Franklin Graham says he won’t endorse Trump in GOP primary race

Evangelical pastor Franklin Graham, a longtime supporter of former President Trump, says he will not endorse Trump — or any candidate — in the 2024 GOP presidential primary.

“I’m going to stay out of it until after the primaries have finished,” Graham told CBS News on Friday at the March for Life rally in Washington, D.C.

Graham also told CBS News that it was an “easy decision” not to endorse someone during the 2024 primaries.

CBS noted Graham doesn’t generally endorse primary candidates, but his remarks come as tensions have been rising between evangelical groups and Trump in the months after he announced his third bid for president. Trump said in an interview earlier this week that evangelical leaders are showing “signs of disloyalty” because they have yet to endorse his 2024 campaign.

Oh for Pete’s sake will you please stop posting these BS non stories from the little rats at The Hill. Franklin said he’s not endorsing anyone in the primary. There is no story here.

You know you’ve got the wrong guy, don’t you? It was Jerry Falwell’s son involved in everything you mentioned!

Graham is saying he will wait to see what happens in the primaries. That’s my read. I don’t see any Trump bashing going on here.

Trump gave us so much winning during his 4 years of presidency that I couldn’t take it anymore. I was on the verge of collapsing from an overdose of good news.
Rarely in America has a President been able to accomplish so much in so little time.

- Strengthening the supreme court.
- Being the toughest president (right after Reagan) against Russia.
- Eliminated the world’s most extreme islamic terrorists.
- Eliminated Russian Wagner mercenaries by the hundreds in Syria
- Lowered the taxes.
- Massive deregulations.
- Exposed the true nature and the immense size of the swamp.
- He united NATO, and made NATO members pay their dues.
- He strengthened Americas military to new heights.
- He brooked peace in the middle east between Israel and many arab countries.
- He was on the forefront for many peace initiatives and was nominated for the Nobel peace prize.
- He made China pay its share.
He made America become a net exporter of oil!

- Best of all: He scared Russia like hell! Thats why Russia never budged a finger concerning land grabbing mainland Ukraine.

His successful polices and charisma made him succeed just about everywhere.

etc etc etc...

I think that’s reasonable. He doesn’t endorse any primary candidate.

Is it true that Graham is a 33 degree Mason?

Merciful Maude.

You stand me corrected.

I deeply apologize. More importantly, I am sorry.

Too much coffee, too little slowing down and reading my information correctly.

For some reason, Franklin Graham sticks in my mind......

I deeply admired/admire (?) his father and his mother’s spiritual walk.

Thank you, Joann37, truly, thank you, for correcting me.

I’d rather be corrected than thought ill of and not be corrected.

Likewise because they all are crap due to either being a populist or pragmatic. Someone who is actually for streamlining/optimizing spending and understand the dynamics of formulating a genuine prosperous future is nowhere to be seen, hence the populism and pragmatical perpetual failures that currently reside in the repub side. Unicorn status now which should not be the case but everyone loves their gibs l/”compound interest”/COLAS/Inflation adjustments that have been spent already.

Did Graham endorse Trump in the past? Does he ever endorse candidates? If not, then this is a non-issue.

This is the act of a coward. If you want to label that the action of a “long knive” go right ahead.

The long knives CC27 was referring to was the Trump Police Force who would now come out to savage Graham. We can use your response as Exhibit A.

That’s a pretty good list. I’m thankful for every one of those items. Not to diminish Trump, but GWB’s would probably look much the same, though, too. Not quite as good, but very similar on a lot of the major points. Not that I’m a GWB fan either. I soured on both of them in the end.

I agree.
I soured in the end as well concerning GWB.

My favorite Present remains Ronald Reagan.

My favorite Present remains Ronald Reagan.

Without question. A veteran, with a great sense of humor, who not only domestically saved the US from massive inflation and interest rates of ~20%, but from a foreign policy standpoint defused the Iran hostage situation, AND oversaw the dismantling of the USSR. We have problems now but all those combined were much worse than what anyone has come close to facing since.
