On Friday’s broadcast of HBO’s “Real Time,” former Attorney General Bill Barr stated that “the main danger to our democracy, frankly, is the sort of radical progressive movement” and that free public discourse is under attack in a way that “on a daily basis makes the McCarthy era look like child’s play.”
Barr said, “[W]hen confronted with the question, if Trump is the party’s nominee and he’s running against Biden, who would you vote for? And I say it’s hard for me to see — I just find it hard to believe that I could vote against the Republican nominee under those circumstances, because I think the main threat to the United States and the main danger to our democracy, frankly, is the sort of radical progressive movement and the lurch to the left that has taken place –.”

As for the “McCarthy Era”, he doesn’t have a damned clue. He only knows what he has been told the the people he wants to criticize, yet he swallows that whole and unquestioningly.
Joseph McCarthy was an American Hero who purchased us several decades more before the Leftists came out of the closet and began their destruction of our country in earnest.

You beat me to it. Barr is proving himself a progressive suck-up by his statement. He is preaching to the liberal choir. If he wanted to challenge them, he would say that they are continuing to prove McCarty right. Instead, he sings their tune. In his depraved heart, he knows no other.
Arguably, Bill Barr is the worst AG the US has ever had as he was a key player in continuing the politicization of the FBI and the Justice Department. Simply put, he COULD HAVE done something about the Wray’s, the Comey’s, the Strzok’s and the Paige’s but he CHOSE not too. In fact, he doubled down at every opportunity. That will be his legacy.
