Now in the face of the obvious, he begrudgingly responds to, "who would you vote for?" with,

But note he continues to waffle! He doesn't answer the question as it pertains to Trump but takes the safer course and speaks generally of the R party. You are right, of course, about Joseph McCarthy being "an American Hero who purchased us several decades more before the Leftists came out of the closet and began their destruction of our country in earnest", but the Deep State and the MSM along with our Education System will not permit such thoughts.

We are not a Democracy.

We do not guarantee and equal status and situation for all
citizens. We give people the freedom to develop into the
people they want to be, using a Constitutional Republic.

If a government guarantees that everyone is equal, it will
have to impose that on everyone single one of us. “No, you
have too much. We’re taking some of it.” “No you have too little. Here, this used to be his over there. Now it’s
yours.”

The endless control methods would be austere.

Our leaders need to be aware of this, and quit promising
a Democracy.
