Houston police are asking a bystander who shot a man 9 times and killed him while he was in the act of robbing people inside a Houston restaurant to come forward for questioning. FOX 26's Gabby Hart spoke with local criminal defense attorney Price Brown about if the incident could be considered self-defense.

Yep. I too smelled a bit of gangland justice in this. He is long gone and justice was served, at least to the other customers. Smells of cartel and how they handle things.
>>No it is a taqueria in the 6800 block of South Gessner Rd.
I heard it was at the intersection of “Fool” Around and Find Out Street and Play Stupid Games Win Stupid Prizes Avenue.
Was I misinformed?
Yeahhhh... that was way more “street” than “I went to class and got my CCW”. Just a vibe.
LOL, and 100% agree.
I’d love to see the reaction of someone like Mas Ayoob to that idea.
I was robbed at a Waffle House near Houston Hobby Airport just before Christmas about six years ago.
That’s good news. Why should the guy contact law enforcement since he didn’t commit a crime
Self defense and he just got carried away, emotionally.
No reason for him to contact law enforcement since he didn’t commit a crime.
Summary: shooting him the first few times, until he was down and not moving, was legally OK.

Several years back a friend of mine was arrested after a bar fight. I went to court with him, the deal was already made, he would pay a fine plus 6 months probation.
The judge questioned him first and asked him, “Mr. Redfield, I understand that you hit him, knocking him off the bar stool but why did you him him again?” My friend replied, “He was still twitching, your honor”
30 days in the county jail for contempt of court.
I visited him while he was in jail, just to tell him what a dumb ass he was. All he could say was, “I know it, I know it, I know it.”
When I was watching the video I thought the shooter was going to sit back down and finish eating.
“Now we’re square. :)”

That conversation is why I sometimes wish FR had a “like” button.
Red Dwarf Ping!
Cut to: RIMMER and LISTER on metal walkway. As he walks under them LISTER has the SIMULANT in his sights.
RIMMER: What are you waiting for? Gloop him.
LISTER: I can’t. He’s not armed.
RIMMER: Lister, this isn’t a Scout meeting. We’re not trying to win the Best-Behaved Troop flag. Gloop him.
LISTER: What? In the back?
RIMMER: Of course in the back. It’s only a pity he’s awake.
LISTER: You mean you could happily kill him if he was asleep?
RIMMER: I could happily kill him if he was on the job. Gloop him.
LISTER: It’s immoral.
I hope this taqueria has customers lined up out the door in a show of support. I wish I were closer.
I didn’t shoot him, the gun did. I was just holding it.
AKA The classic Alec Baldwin defense.
Dead checked his azz.
I believe the Hero, who was also a victim was in a state of Shock/Fear when he fired the shots including the last one. With the faces of the other potential innocent victims running thru his mind he was paralyzed by fear and concern for their lives. At that moment an instinctive survival mode took over coupled with Fear/Shock and he sprang to action.
This man is a Hero.
Bkmk Houston
Uh, yeah. We do.
Sorry but the law isn’t going to see it that way even in Texas.
Self defense is to defend yourself.
Once the threat is neutralized, you don’t get to the walk up and put a bullet in their head.
Summary execution is not self defense.
He’s going to face charges.
What you believe and feel doesn’t matter when it comes to law.
You can believe and feel whatever you want. However the law is the law
He’s going to face charges.
Like I said, if I was on the jury, unless they can show he has a pattern/past that shows he is a greater societal threat if I’m on the jury I would vote to acquit, but reality is he is going to face charges.
