A nationwide shoplifting epidemic is crippling the finances of brick-and-mortar retailers, who warn that they may be forced to raise prices or even shutter stores in order to offset tens of billions of dollars in lost inventory.
The National Retail Foundation is estimating that it lost $94.5 billion last year due to βshrinkβ β an industry term that means lost inventory β which is being blamed primarily on shoplifting, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Supply chain shortages have also enabled shoplifters to sell stolen goods at a premium on eBay, Amazon, and other secondary market facilitators, the NRF said.

Zero sympathy for any company that supported Communist organizations such as Black Lives Matter
TM, especially those that gave them money.
Let the korporate board members pay out of their own pocket to reimburse the stockholders.

Retailers did manage to score a victory this week when the House approved a $1.7 trillion funding package that includes a provision that would force Amazon, Facebook, and other online marketplaces to verify high-volume sellers.
The bill, called the INFORM ACT, also seeks to combat sales of counterfeit goods and dangerous products by compelling online marketplaces to verify different types of information β including bank account, tax ID and contact details β for sellers who make at least 200 unique sales and earn a minimum of $5,000 in a given year.
The bill is expected to gain passage in the Senate on Friday.
More laws aren’t going to solve the problem. What will?

I watched a video from the guy who created the glitter bomb. It was his fifth and final iteration. He showed video of just how bad theft from cars is there. Bad enough that criminals are bold enough to get out of their cars and walk up to the victim’s car and break windows and steal things while the victim is sitting in the vehicle in traffic. It’s going full-on South Africa.

More laws arenβt going to solve the problem. What will?A few shoplifters' heads on stakes outside stores might be a deterrent.

Why not, when the Communist Dallas County DA rolled out the red carpet for shoplifters by declining to prosecute them?

The USA and average Americans would be better served if the likes of Amazon, Target, and Walmart went bankrupt, and smaller/local businesses filled the gap
Years ago, I used to believe in “big business” and their benefits to America. No longer.
But for the most part, they have become oligopolists, and grifters, using fake, fiat, printed and manipulated Federal Reserve money to their advantage. The promote globalism and off-shoring of jobs. They suck-up to woke government for favors, and the deep-state indeed likes having just a few huge oligopolists over whom they have power. Its the Communist China model of private-sector governance.
