Two students, just 14 and 15 years old, were fatally shot in the head and two other teens were wounded in a shooting Friday afternoon near a high school on Chicago's West Side.

The 15-year-old who was fatally shot in the head has been identified as Brandon Perez. He was pronounced dead on arrival at Stoger Hospital. The remaining victims have yet to be named.
The 14-year-old victim was also shot in the head and taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
I thought there were gun laws in place in Illinois keeping guns away from school property. This shooter didn’t obey the law? Oh my.

Are any schools in Mexico named after a US president?
As an aside, IMHO the name of this school is a good indicator of some of the factors that contribute to the social decay that allows this to happen.
Benito Juarez was a President of Mexico and was the first indigenous person to hold this office (or equivalent office) in the Americas. Fine, admirable for sure, but irrelevant to American society. The message to our youth, or all backgrounds, color, race, etc. should be that America is a great nation and can be the land of opportunity for everyone, but that taking advantage of opportunity requires preparation and hard work - and can pay off with a wonderful life. We should not pander and propagate the politically motivated message that America is the land of social injustice.
