A corps of researchers looking into the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy say they have unearthed proof his alleged assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald, was involved in an operation by the CIA mere months before the killing, reigniting questions about whether the Oswald truly was alone in his decision to kill the youngest man ever elected president.
In a Tuesday press conference at the National Press Club, Jefferson Morley—a veteran of the D.C. press corps and a preeminent expert on JFK's assassination with the Mary Ferrell Foundation—told reporters that he and attorneys with the foundation obtained documentation relating to a still-classified covert operation approved by senior CIA officials three months before Kennedy's death that suggested the agency used Oswald for intelligence purposes several weeks prior to shooting.
"This is an extraordinarily serious claim, and it has profound implications for the official story," Morley said Tuesday morning in Washington. "The CIA knew far more about the lone gunman than then they are admitting even today. So this story deserves the closest possible scrutiny."
The document, one of several researchers obtained this month as the result of an October lawsuit, is a precursor to a fuller release of documents anticipated by the National Archives this month.
The mandated release of records dates to a 2021 memo by President Joe Biden's administration ordering the release of all documents related to the JFK assassination after several delays by agencies like the CIA and FBI. Attorneys for the Mary Ferrell Foundation argued that the agencies have illegally stalled the release of more than 16,000 additional documents related to the case over concerns they could potentially compromise the names of individuals and the methods used in intelligence-gathering activities more than a half-century ago.
Newsweek reached out to the CIA for comment.

There were many people near the grassy knoll who heard shots coming from behind. A reporter for a Dallas newspaper said he saw smoke coming the area behind the grassy knoll. He said it was the area where there was a bridge over the railway tracks IIRC. That was before the lone gunman in the book depository became established as the official explanation.
I guess government employees can do whatever they want.
Has nothing to do with Oswald being a good shot. The “magic bullet” refers to the theory that the bullet that went through Kennedy’s neck was the same one that hit Connolly and nearly killed him. It would have had to dramatically change direction - Connolly was not close to being in a straight line trajectory of the bullet.
Of course Oswald still had to be able to hit Kennedy in the neck for that bizarre sequence to have occurred.
” Lee Harvey Oswald, was involved in an operation by the CIA mere months before the killing, reigniting questions about whether the Oswald truly was alone in his decision to kill”
He was chosen and cultivated to be a patsy. Hell, he recognized that right away. Picked a young nobody without much family, used him up and saw him dead before he could talk.
I’m not a very good shot, and even I can hit a man sized target at 90 yards with ease. That’s an easy shot for anyone familiar with shooting a rifle with a scope.
Not 3 shots in how many seconds.zapgruder film was edited.
The limo stopped
Let’s not forget the bullet hole in the windshield
That's an easy task. I'm not saying he shot Kennedy. I'm not saying he did not shoot Kennedy at the behest of some nefarious organization.
I'm saying that shooting a man sized target at 90 yards in a slow moving vehicle would be easy. 19 seconds is a lot of time.
I remember my parents had the TV on, and they both started yelling-bro and I were hanging out with cousins near the barn and came running in to see what was going on-my parents said right away that the mafia had hired a hitman, and that LBJ-and maybe even the CIA-was involved-like most Texas conservatives, my family members hated LBJ to hell and back-but since my parents both continued to believe that was how the assassination was planned/done for the rest of their lives, I’m pretty much into believing it, too-it is actually the only “conspiracy theory” I put any credence in...
I think so, too-it makes total sense...
What has always puzzled me is his choice of weapon. He was trained on the M1-Garand and knew it well. I can make consistent 4-inch groups with the open sights at 100 yards and it is semiautomatic with 8 rounds in the clip. The M1-Garand Model D with the side mounted scope will do a 1–2-inch group at 100 yards. With the side mounted scope, he could also use the open sights. Why did he not choose the weapon he was familiar with, and it was cheap back then.
I’ve taken down deer-person sized-with one shot from a scoped .270 at 100 yards several times-but over open ground with only tall trees between-did it 2 seasons ago-I’ve been hunting since I was a kid, but not a superior shot, etc. Someone like Oswald-former service member, marksman, etc could easily have made that shot...
If you’ve ever been on the 6th floor, you will realize it was an easy and straight on shot before the car turned. But, the real shooter was behind the fence. Read about Mr. Files and he will explain much. A few years back, a person used a detector and found the 223 casing.
Agree.
My guess is that there are probably some russians still alive that were passing info about who oswald was talking to, and what about, in their embassy in mexico.
Such folks would likely have been passing on info on many other subjects over the years.
Out of professional courtesy, we probably don’t want to see them killed.
To make the shot one would have to point hard to the right. Using a bolt action rifle in that position would be awkward at the least.
the “magic bullet” shot has been replicated with ballistic targets.

Completely bogus nonsense manufactured to deceive the gullible.
Likely Bush and Johnson were involved.

Read The Man Who Killed Kennedy: The Case Against LBJ.
The real unpublicized story is the hundreds of heavily armed right wing militia and left wing revolutionaries who had belived rumors of a coup d’etat in Dallas and chickened out and did nothing...nada...zip...
the dog...oops the gun that did not shoot.
Three things I accept as fact:
1) Oswald was involved. He left his wedding ring and a small wad of cash behind when he rode with Buell Frazier to work that morning. He knew something dangerous and important would happen.
2) Oswald was a “loser”. He had failed at practically everything that he did, including attempting to assassinate Gen. Edwin Walker when he had a still target and plentiful time to carry it out. Who would seriously choose this man to shoot at POTUS in a one-time-only assassination opportunity?
3) Everyone remembers Gov. John Connally in the jump seat right in front of JFK. Remember he had that big white cowboy hat in his left hand as he rode through Dealey Plaza? For the “magic bullet” story to be true, the force of the bullet should have caused Gov. Connally to drop his hat reflexively. But he doesn’t, it’s still there in the Zapruder film until he ducks out of sight. For his part, Connally said to his grave that the first bullet did not strike him. Another bullet penetrated his back as he was spun around to look for JFK after the initial shot.
OK, then why did the Secret Service agents in the front seat, did not report having their ear drums ruptured when that shot or shots went off???
