Donald Trump made bold statements on his Truth Social account over the weekend, saying that the Republican candidate for AZ Governor, Kari Lake, should be ‘installed’ as Arizona’s next governor. Trump made the statements as six counties prepared to meet the Monday deadline to certify the 2022 midterm election results in what will begin the process of contesting the highly troubled November elections.
Media reports show that with 99 percent of the vote reported in Arizona, there is just 0.6 percent separating Lake from the projected victor, her Democratic opponent Katie Hobbs.
But Republican outcry, led by Lake and former President Trump, claims there was foul play in the midterms due to Hobbs’ Secretary of State role, which puts her in charge of Arizona’s elections.
Officials in Arizona’s Maricopa County demanded county elections officials delay certification and answer questions about how the Nov. 8 midterm elections were conducted.

I whole heartedly agree. These crooks are running scared too.
You left out the fraud and official misconduct, particularly in Maricopa County.
later
Sure, just “install” her like Nancy wanted to “deem” a bill as having been passed?
Wipe your ass with the constitution while you’re at it.
Wondering if Trump is starting to burn it down, starting with his own credibility.
Even Lake’s campaign is not alleging fraud. They’re arguing over technical problems that occurred, but they’re not claiming fraud.
All a recount does is check the math. If vote fraud occurred, those fraudulent votes will still be counted.
Good Republicans assume the Marquis of Queensbury classic sport-boxing formal stance, and promptly get kicked in the balls by Democrats following the wisdom of Vince Lombardi.
...and they smile, and go along — to be Nice Guys in their own minds.
False. Hobb's being involved was hardly the only factor nor primary one.
Going forward the selected winners (not elected) should be fought tooth and nail every inch of the way. Make their political life a living hell of obstruction and civil disobedience if needed and I think it will be.
Sadly the brainwashing and indoctrination of far too many people in AZ has overtaken the number of smart patriotic republicans. Too many transplants from CA who bring their trash politics with them.
AZ is being Kalifornicated in the butt.
I should have made my post more clear-yes fraud and misconduct but it seems it was carried out at least in part by Republicans-in this case McCanniacs.
Try to come up with a better response because the election was fraudulent in Maricopa County! Amazing how many here at FR are so quick to accept government propaganda.
Certainly lends support to the “Uniparty” theory.
Bold, huh. Brains 5 years ago would have been better than “bold” today. IT IS TOO LATE, MORONS. THEY PERFECTED THE STEAL.
Voter suppression in Republican districts with their supposed printer ‘malfunction’ and spiriting uncounted votes away to ‘somewhere’ to be read. FRAUD. Not McCaniacs....
Then it behooves us to perfect making the steal not worth it, with civil disobedience, legislative resistance, and just doing things legally that bunch their panties, over and over and over again. Sort of like what they’ve been doing to conservatives since forever.
I love President Trump but sometimes his mouth seems to be his own worst enemy. He’s not alone in that regard though.
“Installed”, yes, crazy word. Won’t happen.
That was all that Evellene in Georgia had. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg here, and there’s plenty of evidence of chicanery.
As Rush used to say, “their highest aspiration is to lose with honor”.
I think she is smart to take this stance at this point. There are plenty of indications of incompetence and conflict of interest at this point. Fraud is harder to prove than incompetence at this point. If she starts screaming fraud from the get-go (even if she thinks it has been committed), she can be more easily dismissed as a kook. She doesn't have the luxury of emotional and knee-jerk reactions without proof in hand like those on Free Republic do. She has to be methodical and exhaust every legal recourse.
You and I both know there were shady dealings behind this election, but she's the one that has to fight the fight.
She did very well with Republicans everywhere except Maricopa County. Days before the election, she told McCain voters to “get the hell out” and called McCain a “loser” - which he was in many respects, but he always won Maricopa County by a big margin.
Most McCain Republicans in Maricopa still voted for her. But it would only take about 5% of Republicans in Maricopa to sit out the election to explain the outcome. 2% would be enough if you include Independents, who usually voted for McCain in Maricopa County.
Add in the Attorney General - Republican, ran against Blake Masters in the primary - went on “60 Minutes” and attacked Lake as “crazy” the week before the election.
During the final week, Lake was leading in the polls by TWO POINTS. It was always going to be close. Looks to me like the Maricopa McCainniacs did what Lake told them to do, in large enough numbers that she lost the election.
