The fountain of youth may be made of air, not water.
Scientists say they’ve successfully reversed the aging process of elderly people through “oxygen therapy” in a first-of-its-kind study.
Researchers from Tel Aviv University used hyperbaric oxygen chambers to target specific cells and DNA linked to shorter lifespans — and found the “Holy Grail” of staying young, according to a press release about the discovery.
During the study, researchers investigated whether the therapy — which involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized environment — could reverse the effects of aging in 35 people over age 64, according to the study, which was published Wednesday in the journal Aging.
They placed elderly participants in the chamber for 90 minutes a day, five days a week for three months and studied its impact on senescent cells, which are associated with tissue and organ deterioration. They also measured the length of each person’s telomere, a molecule linked to premature cellular aging.
Remarkably, scientists found that the participants’ telomeres had enlarged by an average length of 20 percent while their senescent cells decreased by up to 37 per cent by the end of the trial — the equivalent growing 25 years younger.
“The significant improvement of telomere length shown…provides the scientific community with a new foundation of understanding that aging can, indeed, be targeted and reversed at the basic cellular-biological level,” said the study’s co-author Shai Efrati. “Since telomere shortening is considered the ‘Holy Grail’ of the biology of aging.”
The scientists, which include doctors from the Shamir Medical Center, believe the pressurized chamber triggered brief oxygen shortages, which caused cell regeneration.

Drugs during the day to keep him up and drugs at night to help him sleep. Messed up screwballs both MJ and the doctor.
Does the treatment give you back your 18 year old body?
I’m no biologist, but not sure changing a couple measurable stats necessarily mean reversing all the negative effects of aging. If I put some hair product in my beard to make the whiskers less grey it does not mean I am as physically fit as I was when younger.
Shortly afterwards Ms Clinton emerged from her daughter Chelsea’s apartment in Manhattan. A little girl approached her and she was filmed hugging the girl, before smiling and waving to reporters as she walked away.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
that was her double that emerged from chelsea’s apt
she looked prolly 10-15 years younger than the real hildabeast
How does a hyperbaric chamber trigger oxygen shortages? Cause if that is the ticket, we could hold our breath, take up free diving.
I couldn’t find a thumbs-up emoji to click, so this will have to do.
Breaking news from November 20, 2020.
Not in Pasco County.
In Pinellas County between Tarpon Springs and Palm Harbor (I think)
You got the Alt 19 part right

I love that story.
The more you immerse yourself, the longer you live.
If you completely dunk yourself, you live forever, or until you drown.
Of course, it didn't keep Dr. Death from od'ing the dumbass on propofol, but hey his telomeres were healthy!
Oh man, what I wouldn't give to sneak up and yell into that comm device.
"BREAKER 1-9 GOOD BUDDY HOW YOU ROLLIN?"
Damn!
Now, 4-days from turning 89, they tell me!
Pinellas, Pasco tomato tomato.
I didn’t want the Post and Natalie to know the exact location.
Btw, good job.

If oxygen is the essential “cure” according to the study The result to me suggests the real target “cure” is metabalism and diet throughout life that improves the proper delivery of oxygen to cells.
Please, no—not for me. Not unless the Great Reset is defeated globally.
I take at most a dozen deep breaths and suddenly conk out without even noticing I'm falling asleep. Sometimes all it takes is 3 or 4 breaths.
Breathe to Fall AsleepThe secret is to remain very calm and do this exercise gently and without force or strain.
Prepare by making your body comfortable. Blow your nose if necessary, empty your bladder or bowels; wash your hands, face and mouth; turn off all distractions or lights.
Arrange your body and bedcovers to your preferred sleep position. Some are front sleepers, some side, some back. If you believe your hands will be cold during the night, place them under the covers before beginning the exercise.
Lying thus comfortably with eyes closed, breathe in through your nose, slowly inhaling as much air as you can, easily expanding your waist and abdomen until you are fully inflated; hold it gently for three or four seconds.
Then just let it go through your nose, with no effort to make yourself exhale. Just let it all deflate by gravity, getting most of the air out without strain. Hold your deflated state for three or four seconds.
Repeat the breathing steps, as above. If you wish, envision with each inhale a cleansing flow of air or light permeating every part of your body — filling your toes, fingertips and head, your inner organs, your brain, eyes, etc.
If something specific is bothering your mind, silently repeat the simplest possible affirmation with each exhale: "I release all tension" (or "all fear", "all pain", "all anger", "all sadness", etc).
If you become restless, gently return to the exercise until you fall asleep.
This exercise raises your blood oxygen and aerates your entire body, helping you sleep soundly and feel better the next day.
Keep

Yes, good breathing is needed for other healthy life style and diet chanegs to fuly work, but that effort (proper breathing) is best applied all day long.
I’ve believed the same thing for about 20 years after studying how pressurized oxygen speeds up the healing process of burn victims and eye injuries.
The regeneration caused by those chambers was measurable, so it stands to reason that a higher O2 concentration in the atmosphere could result in the long lives of the first people and their decedents.
