It remains unclear where Chuck Schumer has gotten information on the rate of reproduction in America or what it has to do with immigration. There is some text missing from the quote above which was taken from Twitter, so it might lack context until more reporting has been done on how Schumer came to this conclusion and suggestion.
Chuck Schumer has been vocal with immigration many times in the past, both supporting it and also striking down a path to citizenship desired by former President Donald Trump. Back in 2018, Schumer openly opposed Donald Trump’s proposed framework that could have been a path of citizenship for nearly 2 million immigrants, but there was also money involved that would be used for Trump’s border wall, but Democrats didn’t like that part.
Schumer suggested then President Donald Trump was using that path of citizenship as a way of covering up for some changes he wanted to make to the legal immigration system, things that Schumer suggested could even be damaging.
As reported on Politico back in 2018, Schumer said then about immigration and Trump’s plan: “This plan flies in the face of what most Americans believe,” and that Donald Trump has “finally acknowledged that the Dreamers should be allowed to stay here and become citizens, he uses them as a tool to tear apart our legal immigration system and adopt the wish list that anti-immigration hard-liners have advocated for for years.”
Trump and the White House wanted $25 billion to build a border wall and increase security while restricting family-based immigration. Trump also wanted to eliminate the visa lottery system. This is true, btw - the American reproductive rate is below the replacement rate and without legal and illegal immigration our population would be falling. However, no one gave Chuck Schumer the authority to decide for the rest of us that the way to address this is by enabling illegal immigration.
Why should they? You tell women they don't need a man and that having kids will kill their potential and pass welfare laws. You legislate a contraceptive mentality thru mandatory insurance paying for contraception and champion killing the innocent in the womb.
