The last thing this country needs in the White House is an Ivy League lawyer who has never worked outside government in his life. Washington DC is filled with people like that. We call them “the Swamp.”

If I were placing a bet right now, I’d say the most likely VP candidate for Trump is Kristi Noem. Another seemingly outlandish possibility could be Tulsi Gabbard.

Would there be any prohibition on naming the same person to be both VP and AG? VP seems like a nothing job. AG in Trumps second term will be where the actions at, and Desantis has the brains and backbone needed

I’d vote for that dream team in a millisecond.

Honestly, I love Trump.. but.. it is apparently very hard to work for him, and many people that do eventually get sideways with him.

I would rather DeSantis stay in Florida where he is needed and continue to, like you said, build his national standing while staying on good terms with Trump.

Said that there are so many Republicans that have blinders on. Do you want to win elections you need to run electable candidates.
I voted for Trump in 2016 and 2020. The election was his to lose and he did it by his bombastic nature. Heady focused on being presidential from May 2020 until the election he would’ve won.

The situation won’t be resolved on free republic. We will have to wait and see how the US public votes. If he would win the primaries and was our candidate, I would vote for him. But I don’t believe that’s going to happen.

If we want to take America back, we need to look to younger leaders and not a bunch of old people over age 70.

He’s said he was going to serve the people of Florida for two full terms.

This news should come as no surprise to anyone who just listened to him.

you are correct. Trump is his own worst enemy because he takes the knife out and slashes people who used to be supportive.

Who would you see as Trumps VP for his second term?

Jim Jorden for VP and Cruz for AG.

If not Trump, then who? I mean who is out there who actually wants the job, and not your 'perfect' candidate who doesn't exist.

I suspect he is just a very tuff boss to work for. Which is not necessarily a bad thing, but in this case where I want a viable future president after Trump.. yeah, please stay in Florida DeSantis and wait your turn.

SADLY I WANT TO TAKE BACK AMERICA. TRUMP was a great President. but he is not electable again. to much baggage! the Rats want Trump to run because they will destroy him. He is sadly a lightning rod for the Left.

Sadly, your screen name describes the nature of your comment about Trump!

..."while staying on good terms with Trump."

Fabulous point, which I've not heard expressed. DeSantis '24 fans should take it to heart.

Finally, someone who is awake. Trump is doing what he can to help save America, but it is likely he is teasing a run that won’t happen.

Only in your dreams!

DeSantis is the best governor Florida’s ever had - he keeps all of us - all of us living in Florida free AND safe.

That said this is the right choice.

Trump needs to finish what he started - then DeSantis can step in after Trump’s finished his second term and serve for eight years.

There will not be a President/VP ticket with both candidates from the same state.

The most important thing about Trump I admire is his agenda to stop wasting money on foreign wars. No president has done that since I arrived here in 1960. May be Reagan was also reluctant to get involved in foreign wars but even Reagan did not dismantle even half of the 900 USA military installations world wide. Why are we spending money (which we don’t have and keep borrowing) in Germany & Okinawa and S. korea? Those countries have less national debt based on GDP compared to USA.

But on negative side, as you point out Trump is more about him than any other republican. And he is certainly is no fiscal conservative. DeSantis can’t print money in Florida, yet the state budget is in surplus.
