The Kerch bridge from Russia to Crimea, a hated symbol of the Kremlin’s occupation of the southern Ukrainian peninsular, has been hit by a massive explosion on the span that carries railway traffic.
Images from the bridge showed a fiercely burning fire engulfing at least two railway carriages from a train on the bridge, accompanied by a vast column of black smoke.
The explosion, which witnesses said could be heard kilometres away, took place around 6am on Saturday while a train was crossing the bridge, although it was not immediately clear what caused it.
Some images appeared to show a second fire at some distance from the main blaze.
Later images also appeared to show part of road bridge that runs parallel with the train tracks had collapsed.
The bridge is both highly symbolic to Russia and an important logistical supply route for Russian forces in Crimea and in southern Russian-occupied Ukraine.
The Russian news service Tass said a fuel tanker was involved. “According to preliminary data, a fuel tank [railroad] car has been on fire at one of the sections of the Crimean bridge, shipping arches aren’t damaged, said Oleg Kryuchkov, an adviser to the Russian occupation head of the Crimea.

I’m talking about suicide bombing itself, independent of the war in Ukraine. He/she put up a post that revelled in the possibility a suicide bomber hit the bridge and that cancer patients would be a source of such.
I don’t know the exact figures of how many U.S service personnel have been killed by suicide bombers. Or Israeli. The marine barracks in Beirut suicide bombings killed 241. The number of civilians killed by this repugnant practice is in the tens of thousands since post since the 80’s

Your brain stays in your self imposed border. Regardless of the method, this is a telling blow against Russia, with direct implications vs the logistic situation of Russian forces in Ukraine.
Whatever method was used is irrelevant. If you want to complain about it and console yourself thereby, go ahead, but as my abuelita, the consummate realist, used to say, “es un consuelo de bobo”.
No doubt this effect will be temporary, but all these things, interruptions, delays, resources expended, are cumulative.

Quite. And as a military-political tactic it has been extremely effective. It has helped several bad actors establish moral (yes, moral, it has several meanings, including all psychological effects) supremacy over several societies. They terrorize the local people, break down local institutions, drive the “good” people to flee to some safer place (like Middle Eastern Christians), disgust and demoralize the western public, A Satanic tactic in support of depraved systems, but effective.
But there are many other Satanic tactics besides this.
Well, hell. If I had a terminal condition with only a few weeks or months to live, and would otherwise only be an albatross to those around me, I’d volunteer, so long as civilians were not targeted and the target was a legit asset to my enemy’s attack on my land. Why not?
Would this attack be more “acceptable” or more “honorable” if the Ukies hit that truck with a stealthy drone? Why?
The method is not irrelevant. Ukraine claims to have the moral high ground. In my view, if it was a suicide bomber, and if civilians were killed, it surrenders that ground. Suicide bombing expresses a a unique fanaticism that sets it apart
