Vice President Kamala Harris made the absurd claim that Americans don’t need to compromise their religious values to be pro-abortion.
While claiming to be a devout Catholic, Harris declared that getting an abortion, i.e. killing an innocent life, has nothing to do with God or religious beliefs.
When asked what Harris would say “to someone who understands why abortion should be a personal decision between a pregnant person and whomever else they decide to include in the conversation but believes they can't reconcile it with their faith?” Harris responded that the decision should only involve the pregnant woman’s decision.
“That's such an important point to raise," Harris said, adding “it is her choice and it should be her choice to make, if she chooses a consultation with a loved one, with a healthcare provider, with her faith leader.”
Harris then said a woman should not have to decide between religion and abortion.
“I say this… one does not have to abandon their faith or their beliefs to agree that the government should not be making that decision for her. It’s that basic,” Harris declared.
Many pro-choice Democrats take a hypocritical stance on the issue, fully aware that the Catholic Church condemns abortion.
In July, Harris made another similar statement, claiming that Americans do not need to abandon their faith to support abortion.
“It’s important to note that to support a woman’s ability — not her government, but her — to make that decision does not require anyone to abandon their faith or their beliefs,” Harris said.
On a separate occasion, the vice president said “for those of us of faith, I think that we agree, many of us, that there’s nothing about this issue that will require anyone to abandon their faith or change their faith.”
Earlier this week, President Joe Biden tweeted where he stands on the subject of abortion.
“My dad used to say, ‘Joey, don’t compare me to the Almighty. Compare me to the alternative.’ And here’s the deal: Democrats want to codify Roe. Republicans want a national abortion ban. The choice is clear,” Biden’s tweet read.
Brains have nothing to do with Democrats.
Oh good grief. Why this thing is still uttered in anyones vocab is beyond me
Hey Heels Up, Murder is Murder no matter how you can justify it.
Ahem. Last time I checked, Harris claims to be a devout BAPTIST -- NOT a Catholic.
And it's very interesting not a single Baptist pastor has lifted a finger to deny her "the Lord's Supper" for being pro-abortion (nor do anything about other abortion-loving "Baptists" like Bill Clinton, Al Gore, etc.), while they hypocritically blast "the Catholics" for not doing ENOUGH to deny Biden communion.
But hey, since nobody wants to talk about the double standard, let's just PRETEND Kamala is Catholic!
The Catechism of the Catholic Church states: “Since the first century the Church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable. Direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to the moral law” (No. 2271).
The VP is Baptist. Her “husband” is Jewish.
She does not need to lecture me abour=t my Catholic faith.
Biden is a baby murderer and lapsed Catholic, should be excommunicated.
It is a civil rights issue, and therefore federal.
Amen. And that other phony Catholic, Pelosi, right along with him. Meanwhile the Church does nothing to th ese two schismatics (along with several others) to its shame and humiliation.
...and the choice of the baby is?
Poor woman. To live in that world of lies.
You can make hte pro-life case without references to theology.
Murdering babies is demonic.
I’m happy to condemn everyone who supports murdering innocent little preborn babies while blasphemously claiming to follow Christ.
I can respect your position, but see it differently.
The Declaration of Independence lists a number of our inalienable rights; primary among these rights is the right to life.
So inalienable is that right that our founding fathers included the fourth, fifth, and sixth amendments specifically in the Bill of Rights so that future generations would not be exterminated by the government on a whim.
Further, the 9th and 10th amendments make clear that any other rights are reserved by We, the People.
Modern science has made crystal clear what the Bible knew all along. The child is a separate person. After several weeks of gestation it will know and feel the pain of its death.
The Constitution was designed to protect the innocent from abuse and to enable all individuals to live free. Abortion is the antithesis of that.
Nowhere else in civilized law is it permissible (or, more grotesquely, celebrated and encouraged) to kill an innocent person because you made a mistake.
It depends on what your religion is. Obviously satanists consider it sacred.
No, the issue is murder, so it is a state issue. Or, having it your way, it is the unborn human's civil rights being violated.
For those uneducated folks that believe a woman can do anything she wants with her body, try prostitution or running around naked in front of a police officer. Neither are protected civil rights.
I have my moments, but this woman has made a career out of them.
Harris was at a conference in Connecticut alongside Planned Parenthood president Alexis McGill Johnson and Representative Jahana Hayes (D., Conn.). Hayes asked what Harris would say
to someone who understands why abortion should be a personal decision between a pregnant person (emphasis added) and whomever else they decide to include in the conversation but believes they can't reconcile it with their faith?”
Thus, Rep Hayes didn't refer to pregnant WOMEN.
But Harris...well..she obviously didn't get the woke memo...
“it is her choice and it should be her choice to make, if she chooses a consultation with a loved one, with a healthcare provider, with her faith leader. (emphasis added)
FOUR TIMES Harris broke from the woke script and used the feminine "her" and "she."
It is obvious that intelligence has nothing to do with being a Democrat politician!
