The late-blooming 2022 Atlantic Tropical Storm season is making up for lost time. A tropical system has developed in the Central Caribbean Sea. This storm system is forecast to threaten continental U.S. interests next week. While the tropical wave passed south of a key geographic area known as Hebert's Box #1, it will very likely pass through Hebert's Box #2. These boxes are useful as predictors of hurricanes that will strike South Florida. For more information about Hebert's Boxes, see Hebert Box. See graphic below which illustrated the Hebert's Boxes.

Why wouldn’t they issue watches for north of Tarpon Springs? Too soon? But so close...

I bought my first generator in 1999.

I learned pretty quickly that four 6 gallon gas cans was about right.

The stock muffler on that genny was deafening. I dug around online and found a bolt-on quiet muffler that made all the difference in the world.

Where I live now has a fully wooded lot. Solar isn’t an option without a tree clearing operation that would get a lot of people upset.

Haven’t received the evac notice yet. First they evac Pinellas and Tampa. We are last due to no bridges.

I have looked into silencing mufflers, but was always hesitant due to the uncertainty of the fit, and the need for a fabricated reducer for the connection.

Good morning. I’ve just learned from my family that our memorial for my brother, which was scheduled for Saturday, has been indefinitely postponed. Too many in the family are in the line of fire with Ian. It makes me sad, but I understand. Hoping and praying for all those who are busy preparing for Ian and the aftermath.

Makes sense. I’m still in PR, my wife’s still in FL and wants me to stay put. Our house and my SIL’s are outside Hernando’s evac zone so far. My wife was supposed to fly back to the island on Saturday.

The Tropical Storm Watch for the west coast of Florida has been extended from Chokoloskee southward to Flamingo.

A Tropical Storm Watch has been issued for the Florida Keys from
Seven Mile Bridge eastward to the Channel 5 Bridge in the Middle
Keys.


A Tropical Storm Watch has been issued for Lake Okeechobee.

A Hurricane Watch is in effect for...
* Englewood to the Anclote River, including Tampa Bay.
