THE COMING INVASION OF TAIWAN, WHAT WILL THE GOP DO?
Truth Social ^ | September 19, 2022 | Hostage

Posted on 09/19/2022 3:04:40 AM PDT by Hostage

Once China invades and occupies the island, it’s over for the residents of Taiwan.

The deployment of Chinese forces must be met at sea before reaching the island. Biden will neither respond at sea in time nor with sufficient airborne strength to turn back an occupying force.

The GOP will take the House, but not the Senate. Biden will blame the GOP controlled House for not funding a force to liberate Taiwan. Biden will reach an agreement with the CCP to protect the residents of Taiwan while guaranteeing chip supply to the US.

Taiwan’s fall will be blamed on the GOP. Biden will be praised for reaching agreement to protect the rights of Taiwanese.

Biden says US troops will defend Taiwan. There are no US troops on Taiwan.

Deployment of US troops to Taiwan will require action now. There is no action for troop movement.

People like Lindsey Graham? Talk tough, recommended sending our children to fight, then head to the nearest truck stop to meet the children they didn’t send?

Communist China to invade or conquer Nationalist Chinese land? That ain’t gonna happen? The communists think Taiwan has nuclear weapons with hundreds of Yun Feng 1,200 nautical miles range missile capable of reaching any targets in mainland China. Oh yeah the communists have more nuclear weapons but the Nationalists would rather fight, get even and die. You would wonder why the communists haven’t really attacked and conquer Taiwan 10 years ago. Taiwan has nuclear weapons? I’m not sure. But they had tested their atomic bomb in 1964.

Taiwan is like the Ukraine; it would be an existential fight to the end. Xi and the PRC leadership has learned much from observing the Russia/Ukraine fight. And, the consequences they would suffer if attempting to take control of Taiwan. I’m guessing Xi may be having second thoughts and he and his Leadership are doing some serious cost/benefit analysis and will come to the realization that the status quo is ok for now….

The Chinese only have a dozen LST like ships. They will never make it across the straits. Submarines will feed like sharks on the invasion fleet. And, when those subs disappear into the depths, there will be no way to tell whose subs they are?

Taiwan, Japan, the US, Singapore, Vietnam, India, South Korea?

And, someone will begin seizing Chinese tankers as they move through the Straits of Malacca. That will be the end for the Chinese Economy.

Unless, of course, the Chinese start throwing nukes.

I don’t think you’ll see an invasion of Taiwan anytime soon. Word from the intelligence community is that China was pretty shocked at how high-tech US weaponry (such as HIMARS) have sent the Russians reeling in Ukraine, and that was pretty much just older hand-me-downs. We have been selling our top-of-the-line stuff to Taiwan for years. So, China has decided, “Yeah we can’t risk getting our butts kicked and looking like Russia, so let’s put Taiwan on the back burner for another decade or so until we reach something approaching technological parity.”

No sweat.

A nuclear boomer demo set off in the Straights of Taiwan should do what’s necessary.

Send the little commie Long March scum back to their caves in Yan’an.

I doubt Biden is capable of wiping his ass without help. He’s not running anything as we’ve seen over the last ~20 months.

I doubt the US Navy at this point is capable of heading in the right direction to repel an invasion... being diverse and all they can go where they want or it’s racist

No. Taiwan has no nuclear weapons, nor did they test one in 1964. Reagan actually got them to end their development program in 1982 (one of Reagan’s few tragic missteps imo).

China will invade Taiwan for the reason most brutal dictatorships go to war-their economy is cratering and Xi wants to keep power. In order to solidify the unbalanced (largely young male) population behind him, he will declare a crusade to “liberate” Taiwan from the West.

There is no “coming invasion of Taiwan” - not in the next 8 years at least.

Firstly - it is the “Republic of China” as the official name, not Taiwan. the RoC claims it is the true representative of China and claims all the territory of the Qing empire - including Mongolia, parts of Russia, Indian, Burma, Vietnam etc. as its territory.

Secondly - it is on an island, quite far from the mainland. The People’s republic of China has not got the capability to launch am amphibious attack - even if no one else got involved.

Thirdly - The RoC is heavily armed and has been preparing for a war with the PRC ever since 1949 when the KMT were defeated by the ChiComs and fled to Formose island. Even if no one got involved, the RoC could hand the PRC its ass back

Fourthly - the PRC wants the RoC to solidify its claim as the Middle Kingdom - no nukes here

Fifthly — the PRC prefers to wait and win economically - AS IT IS DOING - so that the RoC will join them. They are not going to have a war which WILL destroy their economy when they can win by patience.

Xi can't -- he may have young men, but he has no blue water capability. He will pick a war with India or Vietnam first

Secondly, they believe the RoC is part of China -- and the RoC believes that it is part of China.

I think the sale of two fully loaded Ohio Class subs to Taiwan with American training personnel would make a powerful statement to the CCP.

What will the GOP do if Taiwan is invaded? Is there any reason to believe the GOP can or will do anything?

The great majority of the GOP are members of the Swamp...they just give an appearance of representing the more conservative element within the Swamp.

Keep in mind that the Swamp is like a gang of criminals. If you join the Swamp, there are benefits. But these benefits inevitably accrue from unethical and/or illegal activities. Ergo, the Swamp has plenty of incriminating evidence on its members that can be used to keep them in line.

If you, as a senator or congressman, do not join the Swamp, you are a minor player with no committee leadership positions to speak of.

There are a few members of Congress who are not members of the Swamp but are still powerful...but we can never be quite sure who they are.

Ukraine 2.0

Despite the US long standing acceptance of One China and that there is but one China and Taiwan is part of China....we will defend with troops, and nukes, if necessary.

“The United States acknowledges that all Chinese on either side of the Taiwan Strait maintain there is but one China and that Taiwan is a part of China. The United States Government does not challenge that position. It reaffirms its interest in a peaceful settlement of the Taiwan question by the Chinese themselves.”

‘Joint Communique Between The United States and China’
Otherwise known as the 1972 Shanghai Communique.
https://digitalarchive.wilsoncenter.org/document/121325

Some argue that ‘creative ambiguity’ was created when on the same day as the Shanghai Communique, the US issued the Taiwan Relations Act.

“This ‘creative ambiquity’ remains the foundation upon which the relationship has developed from mutual hostility to one of ‘multiple intimacies’”
https://www.historic-shanghai.com/the-creative-ambiguity-of-the-shanghai-communique/

And people wonder why, even to this day, that many countries do NOT trust the word of the United States. Go figure.

That said, I oppose any and all US intervention in Taiwan.

I know from the newspapers in 1978-1979 there was reporting about possible nuclear explosions off the cape of S. Africa. It was also speculated that Israel, S. Korea, Taiwan and S. Africa (White Ruled), were working together to develop nuclear weapons.

At that time in the UN, all four of these nations were only observers rather than actual voting members. S. Korea got their recognition with the Olympics of 1988. Taiwan is in the same “boat” as is Israel, surrounded by enemies. S. Africa turned over their weapons of all type before De Kirik Government was passed over to the communist Mandela. S. Korea is rumored to have placed at least 25 nuclear mines in approach routes the North Koreans would use to invade with a conventional armies.

There are three nations remaing to the original group and none have been attacked by a nation (exception of Sadam’s missiles against Israel) since that timeframe of development. What is important is that these three have a self defense pact to aid one another. How that secret agreement works is anyone’s guess, but aircraft could deliver assistance or drop ordance as well as missile strikes.

Even if Taiwan used their nukes only at Sea or against any foothold of Chicoms at isolated mountain passes or beachheads, it would defeat the attackers without attacking China directly. However, once they used those weapons on or near their own landmass, China will immediately be on notice to cease and desist hositilities.

You correct about Taiwan having nukes, but when they had the capability to actually develop them is open for debate. I would like to hear more of the 60’s timeframe you mention.

People think nukes mean hugh explosins. Russia developed the nuetron bomb. It is the so called brief-case bomb. It can be fired from 155’s. These small nuclear devices have a radiation footprint that leaves buildings intact but dispates to the point buildings can be reoccupied in as little as 5 or 6 weeks. If you want to destroy an enemy in close quarter combat you use nuetrons; cities or to make a statement you use convention nukes so to speak. Nukes can also be fired or set off to clear chemical or biological areas that cannot be bypassed for theater operatons. Of course the soldiers who would fight thru would eventually die of radiation posioning but they could fight 24 hours effectivly.

Draining our Strategic Oil Reserve is key to the ChiComs invasion plans. Most of our Navy still runs on oil and restricting its fuel restricts its ability to respond.
