The drinking water system in Jackson — Mississippi’s largest city and home to more than 160,000 residents — is failing, state officials announced on Monday. Thousands of Jackson residents already have no or little water pressure, and officials cannot say when adequate, reliable service will be restored.
The city water system has been plagued with problems for years, including tens of thousands of residents losing water between one and three weeks during a 2021 winter storm.
At a press conference Monday night, Gov. Tate Reeves said the city’s largest water treatment plants may be completely down.
“The O.B. Curtis plant is not operating anywhere near full capacity,” Reeves said. “We may find out tomorrow it’s not operating at all. We’ll have better visibility on that when we get in there tomorrow.”
Reeves announced he would sign an emergency declaration for the capital city’s water system and create an “incident command center” to distribute water to the city’s residents beginning Tuesday morning.
“Until it is fixed, it means we do not have reliable running water at scale,” Reeves said. “It means the city cannot produce enough water to fight fires, to reliably flush toilets, and to meet other critical needs.”

Mayor Ludumba just said in an interview that it would take about 200 million$ to tune up he water system. He could get that by trimming the bonuses of all his couch potatoes. But the scam is deep: how to arrange all the kickbacks to the DNC from all the contractors it would take. And that’s not huge money-—spread over a few years and it’s a bit over 1,000$ per dweller.
But this is one of my long time pet peeves. Getting public officials to maintain their stuff is like pulling teeth-—thru the a-hole. Remember Detroit, Flint, and dozens more? Sometimes one has to slug a desk to get the attention of dimokrat, union voting buttsliders. And Jackson was just in the eye of that big Midwest rainstorm-—shouldn’t be any fire danger for a few weeks.
Time to hit the streets! (hat tip to San Francisco...)

Mississippi governor declares state of emergency as end of Jackson water crisis is nowhere in sight
Oops, you pictured Mayor Daniel Mahoney of Jackson MICHIGAN. Mississippi's 2 letter identifier is 'MS'.
Any body want to bet me they’ve been using the plumbing maintenance money to build homeless camps?
Don’t brag about the DC water system either.
UMMC says there is some impact to patient care operations at Jackson-based facilities not on the main campus.
Patients who have an appointment at one of the following locations are asked to contact that clinic to confirm they should appear at their scheduled location and time:
Jackson Medical Mall
Select Specialty Hospital
Batson Kids’ Clinic
The Center for Advancement of Youth
Buildings LB and LA on Lakeland Drive
UMMC says in some cases, appointments are being moved to other locations and portable restrooms have been made available for locations still operating.

It appears that Jackson will be a LITERAL sh*thole in just a day or two...is that the FIRST U.S. Capitol to achieve that status?
Bttt.

Let me make a prediction- US Govt. (Taxpayer) money is going to bail their thieving black ashes out.
Not the first:
Atlanta GA
Harrisburg PA
Hartford CT
Montgomery AL
Nashville TN
Santa Fe NM
Trenton NJ
Denver CO and Albany NY could be on that list too.
Is this a democrat graft city like new orleans?
They're in a race to the bottom to force the red states to bail them out via fedzilla.
These cities are never coming back. They're not up to standards from 1950, much less 2022.
Mississippi Jackson or Tennessee Jackson?
That’ll do ‘er.
Thanks.
What kind of a name is Chokwe Antar Lumumba anyway? Sounds Islamic or some such thing.
My aunt and uncle lived in an incredible antebellum home in Jackson in the 60’s and 70’s. My uncle called my father, told him their neighborhood was becoming inundated with democrats, and wanted to move into assisted living. He transferred all his monies to my father who paid their bills and looked after them until their deaths. BTW, they received a pittance for the mansion as home values had dropped drastically due to the neighbors. I’ve considered Jackson a crappy city ever since and I’m not in the least bit surprised with the current situation.

Of course they rape and pillage the water funds.
How are they supposed to pay for their pet projects?
Flint, MI was the first thing that came to mind. Decades of neglect and suddenly everybody else has to pay for their water system.
Seems to happen all over the place. Maybe I need to check my town.
Jackson Michigan (MI) vs Jackson Mississippi (MS)
Don’t forget Jackson Minnesota!
