Growing Evidence Against a Republican Wave
NYTimes ^ | 08/24/2022 | Nate Cohn

At the beginning of this year’s midterm campaign, analysts and political operatives had every reason to expect a strong Republican showing this November. President Biden’s approval rating was in the low 40s, and the president’s party has a long history of struggling in midterm elections.

But as the start of the general election campaign nears, it’s becoming increasingly hard to find any concrete signs of Republican strength.

Tuesday’s strong Democratic showing in a special congressional election in New York’s 19th District is only the latest example. On paper, this classic battleground district in the Hudson Valley and Catskills is exactly where the Republicans would be expected to flip a seat in a so-called wave election. But the Democrat Pat Ryan prevailed over a strong Republican nominee, Marc Molinaro, by around two percentage points, outperforming Mr. Biden’s narrow win in the district two years ago.

“Kansas”

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Voters of all demographics have reasons to be pro-murder when it comes to the abortion issue.

They aren’t good ones, but they have them.

I would not consider that a good barometer in a candidate-based election.

Well, if those machines are done away with, voter ID is required, mail-in and absentee ballots are only as truly necessary and are verified, then that’s a whole new chapter. As long as it is still easy for the elections to be stolen, then it’s actually possible that the elections are stolen.

I think that’s when you’ll “have a handle on it” and then the losses are genuine.

Hope it is better than the Red Wave of 2018 where the Dims picked up over 40 votes in the house despite Trump ‘s tern having peace and a great economy.

It was so bad that DeSantis barely won in Fla against a self described socialist and and an a black, anti police Dim opponent. Why? Because DeSantis was a strong supporter of Trump and the anti Trump vote nearly cost him the election. Trump’s Jerk Personality drives millions of voters to vote for the Democrats,

The charge of him breaking the law with top secret docs at his home will stick weather or not it is true because of leftist media spin and the pro abortion female vote will vote Dim too. This will add up to a flat Red Wave and maybe even a minor Blue Wave.

“But the Democrat Pat Ryan prevailed over a strong Republican nominee, Marc Molinaro, by around two percentage points...”

2 percentage points?? In a blue state, with observers saying he ran a stupid, typical RINO campaign strategy.

If the GOP wins the House and Senate I would be happy. I expect them to do absolutely nothing with those wins based on 35 years of experience. The GOP at the congressional level is the most spineless, soulless and cowardly bunch to ever suck air in a pair of lungs.

That being said the Democrats holding the House and gaining seats in the Senate would not surprise me in the least. Corruption is rampant at all levels of government and if they can steal a presidential election with Republican help and McConnell is already giving them a green light why wouldn’t they steal the 2022 election?

Let’s face the facts. For an off year election the general public really is not following until after Labor Day, if at all. Yes, Sleepy Joe’s approval numbers are up a bit over the last month or so. But he is still only around 40%. The Dems are excited about R v W overturn and are trying to make hay from this but for most voters this issue is well down the list. The attack ads this fall are going to be absolutely brutal for the Dems. Gas prices nearly twice what they were in 2020, historic inflation numbers, and now this college loan giveaway. Seeing the PA race tighten has me optimistic at this point. RCP has 8 tossups in the Senate, I think Rs will win NC, WI, and OH easily. Coin tosses in PA, GA, NV, and NH. Probably no shot in AZ. They win two of the five coin tosses and it’s 51-49 good guys in the Senate. House will be a comfortable +20 or so.

Yes because 2020 demonstrated that the Republic is finished with the massive vote stealing. It will continue until we end up with 2 Republicans in the Senate and 98 Democrats.

My favorite response to stuff like this is:

Donald J. Trump will never be president. (circa 2015/16)

Sometimes I don’t even read the article. ;)

Is this the 1,000th article today making this claim? Did a memo go out to the entire media establishment. This is pure agitprop.

Given what happened in Webster v. Loomer (FL), I think we can safely guess why the GOPee was largely reluctant to investigate the 2020 shenanigans: because sometimes, just maybe, they do it too.

Their growing evidence is New York’s 19th District. Only one race.

Winning by 2% in a Dem leaning district is a strong showing? What a pantload.

“Aim is a one party state with no dissent allowable or allowed.”

One wonders why Republicans don’t follow such an aim.
