BREAKING: California to begin sweeping BAN on new gasoline car sales TOMORROW in bid to reach 100 percent zero emissions by 2035

California is set to roll out its long-awaited ban on new gasoline cars on Thursday, which is part of its rule to have all new cars sold by 2035 to be electric only in an effort to fight climate change.

Governor Gavin Newsom first announced the ban in 2020 as a means to reduce the amount of smog-induced pollution in the air, which will improve the state's air quality that is the worst in the US.

The move will also make California the first in the world to mandate zero-emission vehicles on its roads.

Thursday's launch will require that 35 percent of new passenger vehicles sold in the state by 2026 produce zero emissions, then 68 percent by 2030 and ultimately 100 percent five years after.

'The climate crisis is solvable if we focus on the big, bold steps needed to stem the tide of carbon pollution,' Newsom said in a statement Wednesday.

The move, according to Newson, will cut greenhouse gas emissions by 35 percent in the nation's most populous state.

It’s hard to figure with these people. These blue states are carrying the water for their “Green” industry partners in grift, and frankly, people aren’t really paying attention yet.

The simultaneous effort to deconstruct the infrastructure that supports mass automobile ownership (banning new gas stations, banning diesel fuel sales period) is already well underway.

What’s their plan for when the normies start to notice that no one can afford a new car, and their local gas stations start disappearing? How does that play out to their advantage? Honestly, I don’t get it.

you know just where all that smoke came from don’t you

From the ovens and campfires of the people who were living there at the time.

I agree with your comments there.

It has finally dawned on me what is taking place in the
airline industry too.

They are eliminating flights by the thousands.

I heard a prediction this morning that by the end of the
decade, we won’t be able to take a normal flight to a
destination any longer.

Progress...

The constant refrain is that a new “Breakthrough” battery tech is only moments or days away.
And has been for YEARS.
Even if true imagine the outrage of those who invested in the current tech.

So where does California find the electrical capacity to run these electric cars?

I guess they can go back to hedge shears, rakes, and those old push lawnmowers. Builds character too, that’s what my dad used to say when I wanted him to buy some electric tool for me to do yard work with :D

I hate liver. It tastes terrible. And don’t give me that “cook it with onions” crap.

It’s like game. Excellent if cooked to a tad more than rare: still pink in the center.

Some folks marinate in milk first.

I cook the onions separately, but DH has gout, so we just don’t eat cow or calf liver at all. I make chopped chicken liver for myself a couple of times a year. Both are getting expensive.

From your link:

“The pledge, which is not legally binding, is an agreement to “work toward reaching 100 percent zero-emission new car and van sales in leading markets by 2035 or earlier,” which could include sales of both traditional electric vehicles or hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles.”
