This is simply 100% an attack on the poor.

Naturally, on Thursday, all elected officials in California will surrender their gas vehicles and buy EV’s, starting with Alfred E. Newsom. And, as a show of commitment to reducing emissions, all will promise never to fly to a gig, opting instead to drive their EV’s, no matter how long it takes or how many charges.

Whoops, “sold in the state by 2026”.
Upset stomach, did not sleep well last night.
OK, three or four years away, but I stand with the rest of what I wrote.

Total removal of all of our gasoline powered cars tomorrow would make absolutely no difference. No need to cite graphs of CO2 production by country/car/etc, because the CA legislators are so effin’ stupid that they couldn’t pass fifth grade math test. I’m going to enjoy watching CA citizens shove this mandate up the legislator’s collective Obamaholes as time passes.

It’s not zero emissions, and carbon is not a pollutant. Carbon dioxide is not carbon.

Is this even constitutional??? I am no constitutional lawyer, but it would seem that this might be a violation of the Commerce Clause that prohibits forcing people to buy any product.
When corporations lobby governments to force people to buy their products, it seems to me that what we have is fascism!!!

not legal under the Commerce clause in the Constitution ...
Yeah. I miss the Constitution. It worked well.

I remember reading Two Years Before the Mast, written about 1850?...in which Henry Dana described the morbid smog that covered sections of the coast of California. The log of Juan Rodríguez Cabrillo, the first European to sail along California’s coast, refers to San Pedro’s harbor as “la Baya de los Fumos". The bay of smoke. This was in 1542.

Everyone will be a criminal as you are stopped and cited by the state police diving a gasoline powered state car. You will appear in court in front of a judge driven to work by a limousine powered by a diesel engine. Your car will be seized by the state for destruction and you will return to home on a mass transit bus run on diesel.

The exodus from California will continue.......
I'm betting EV, and other, mandates will have loopholes for the illegals & other 'disadvantaged peoples' so that mainly only the white folk must comply.

Use a paper tag like all the illegals in Texas use There will soon be businesses that will de-identify a person. People will seek to shed their "born in the USA" status so they can take advantage of all the mandated benevolence toward illegals, said benevolence being courtesy of taxpaying chumps.

Untether California from the grid providing fossil-generated electricity.
Provide them only certifiable “green” sourced sparks.

Register the cars in Mexico. Then argue illegal alien cars deserve the same rights as other illegal aliens.
