CHICAGO -- A 6-year-old girl is among at least 34 people who have been shot, three fatally, since Friday evening across Chicago.
A man was fatally shot early Sunday in Canaryville on the South Side. The man, 21, was outside about 12:40 a.m. in the 4700 block of South Union Avenue when he was shot multiple times throughout the body, Chicago police said.
Two people were shot, one fatally, Saturday night in Gresham on the South Side. Two men were standing outside about 11:45 p.m. in the 600-block of West 89th Street when they were struck by gunfire, Chicago police said.
A 6-year-old girl was also shot Saturday on the city's South Side. The girl was near the street around 6:30 p.m. in the 7200-block of S. Racine Avenue in the city's Englewood neighborhood when she was struck in the arm by gunfire, according to Chicago police.
Last weekend there were at least 44 people shot, eight fatally, Chicago police said.

Something I always wonder about is — how do gang bangers actually get familiar with their gun? I don’t think they’re spending a lot of time at the range. I don’t think they wander over to that big empty field on 57th St to do some plinking.
I sometimes wonder how many of the people getting shot in Chicago are being shot by someone who has barely ever shot a gun before? I suppose a lot of it is extremely close range so accuracy isn’t a big concern, and the rest of it is longer range which explain how 6-year olds end up getting shot. It just seems wild to have guns be a big deal in a crowd which (I assume) cannot practice with their guns.

It’s probably a good thing that their weapons are stolen throw-aways, or they might have optics or lasers installed. From the videos I’ve seen, everything seems to be covering fire. Duck down, stick the gun up, and drain the magazine, while running.

Mayor Beetljuice thinks it’s all because of white-owned gun shops in Indiana or Michigan so, there’s that.
