The editorial board of the University of Virginia’s newspaper has called to remove references to University founder and Founding Father Thomas Jefferson.
The University and the greater Charlottesville, Virginia, area in which it is located has taken it upon themselves to be defined not by academics, or history, or any other trait. Rather, those in charge of local government and University administration prefer to be defined by a single characteristic: the August 12, 2017, “Unite the Right” rally.

Leftists must assume room temp.
Then we of above room temp IQ can get the statues, names, and other things of CIVILIZATION back to normal.
Eff you, left. May the flies of a thousand camels come to rest in your Obamahole.
It is time to get rid of the editorial board of the University of Virginia’s newspaper. There is no place for ignorant people attempting to apply their subjective judgment, current values, standards and view of historical events to the past.
There is no place in a university for people to re-write history. They were not there.
Donald Trump said (to mostly unbelieving people) they are pulling down statues of villains now but someday they will come back to tear down George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and all the heroes of our heritage.
Dennis Prager said today these little worthless young nerds believe they are higher in moral stature than the great Thomas Jefferson. What a delusion.
I find it quite revealing that these zealots never desire to put their ‘action items’ to a vote! They seize an issue and seek to push it through without any test of history or perspective!
Pass out the paddle balls. Every student gets one.
Another good book if you haven’t read it, The Closing of the American Mind by Bloom.
Just shut UVa down already. 🙄
I know why these folks can’t just move on from thinking about history they think they don’t like. It’s hatred that is holding them back (and holding them down).
No TJ No UVA
MLK was no saint but he did so much to stop racism in the US.
I have a lot respect for the good that he did by trying to redirect the democratic party.
Unfortunately, he ultimately failed.
I will now describe to the Left a great but flawed American. This person risked his life to make this country better. And yes, he did make this country better, so much better.
But he thought that homosexual behavior was just plain wrong. He was very clear about that. And he advised homosexuals to seek the help of a mental health professional. This kind of thinking is, of course, repugnant to today’s progressives.
Should this great person be cancelled based on his politically incorrect views on homosexuality? Before the Left answers, know that I am describing Martin Luther King.
They need to counsel the administration privately.
What, six students on the newspaper board? Who cares.
This really helps Army recruiting, especially in the South. /sarcasm
First they came for Genral Lee and no one said anything....
How about University of Fauxginas?
It better captures the idiocy of the Left.
This is obnoxious.
How about NO!!!
They're like all past tyrants who find a way to destroy the history records so only their triumphs will be recorded. Burning their books, writing lies about them.
The idea of a library and a university was originally to preserve----PRESERVE---the records so others could humbly built upon them like scientists who "stand on the shoulders of giants" to go higher.
At the University of Michigan in front of the Clements Library there is a chiseled statement in stone:
In darkness dwells the people which knows its annal not.
