Tucker Carlson: How Did Liz Cheney Make $33 Million During Only Six Years In Congress?
Real Clear ^ | August 17, 2022 | Tim Hains

Posted on 08/17/2022 9:19:26 AM PDT by george76

FNC's Tucker Carlson asked Tuesday night how it could be that Rep. Liz Cheney's net worth increased from $7 million to $44 million during her six years in public service as a member of Congress...

TUCKER CARLSON: Well, it's primary night in the state of Wyoming, and you know what that means. It means that very soon, Liz Cheney will have an endowed chair at AEI, writing a cilumn for National Review, and writing a book titled "Democracy."

....

But before she heads to retirement, we thought we would ask a pretty simple question: How does Liz Cheney get so a rich? She's been a member of Congress for six years.

When she took office in 2017, her net worth was estimated at seven million dollars, which is a lot for someone with no skills, but that's what she had. Now, she's worth more than forty-four million dollars according to the Center for Responsive Politics, which looked at her financial disclosure forms.

There's probably an honest explanation for all of this. We're not accusing her of robbing liquor stores, but you have to wonder, how did Liz Cheney make more than thirty-six million dollars in six years of public service? That's six million a year. Huh! Good gig!

She didn't report any earned income, gifts, or transactions on her disclosure form.

...

Whatever the case, it's not Wyoming's problem anymore. After tonight, Liz Cheney is going, back to where she's actually from, suburban Virginia, probably running for president, and we look forward to that with great joy. She can be Kamala Harris's running mate.

It’s obvious, and has been for many years, that the fastest way to become a millionaire and perhaps super-rich, is to become a senator or member of congress.

It’s a get rich scheme.

Two ways that I can think of:

1) Siphoning excess campaign funds

2) Insider trading

“But before she heads to retirement...”

Tuckers’ not often wrong but he is on this one......retired from congress maybe but she’s not gonna disappear by any means. She’ll try to be a pain in our collective asses for the next 2.5 years at least I suspect.

The IRS knows. At least they know what they’ve been told. Get her returns.

She didn’t report any earned income

***********

Why not? Her salary as a representative in congress constitutes earned income.

Maybe the new 87,000 IRS agents can figure it out. (Don’t wait up for it, however)

I tell my 16 year old daughter that I want her to think, that she doesn't have to think the same as me but she needs to think for herself and not just be a parrot for others. To seed the process I've asked her "Why do you suppose that people who are middle class go to congress, which pays a decent salary but nothing outlandish, all end up really rich after a few years? Where do these public servants get all the money?"

Pointing stuff like that out and letting her think on it has been working well.

Trump was a billionaire businessman. Then he went into politics. And the media all sat up sharply, narrowed their eyes and said, “Heeeeeeeeeeeey, where’d he get all that money?”

Cheney (and so many others) are penniless fools who go into politics and very quickly gain a net worth that may be 200 times their annual salary. And the media shrugs and says, “Let’s talk about Trump and Russia.”
