Isle of Wight eatery defends itself against ‘nasty’ and ‘bullying’ vegans who were furious that their diet was not catered for
An award-winning cafe has at hit out at “holier-than-thou” vegan customers saying they shouldn’t have to adapt their menu to “suit” customers who don’t eat animal products.
The Kitchen at London House on the Isle of Wight went online to defend itself against “nasty” and “bullying” vegans who were outraged at their decision to refuse to cater to their diets.
Addressing its critics, it said: “If you want vegan food, go to a vegan restaurant.”
The popular high street restaurant in Ventnor said that though it used to serve some vegan food, they decided to stop because of a “militant minority” that spoilt it for the majority.

Did they disappear because of COVID-19?
Yeah count me among them.
KFC does! It’s not a large chunk of corn-on-the-cob. But it takes the edge off wanting fries or mashed potatoes.
You can order corn-off-the-cob, too.
Lol! Awesome reference! One of my favorite books!
I lived in Va IN 1988. Kale was the local landscape plant in all the malls
salad.
Seems like it. As long as we are on the same subject, Golden Corral and Cici's closed in my town. People are freaked out by buffet places. Now that I think about it, it's not sanitary. And I haven't really frequented a buffet places in a while either.
It’s like anything else the Left wants.
They don’t want any other mind-set out there.
It’s their way or you can do without.
Frankly, it’s time these idiots are set straight.
I guess everyone knows by now, the goal is to outlaw
beef.
F that!
Send these idiots back to college to live their life out
in pure unadulterated fantasy land.
Banning plant based “meat” to replace it with Cricket burgers?
You raised them well. Americans.
If it weren’t for the ultimate goal of vegans to eliminate
any beef or other animal sourced food, I might not be as
hostile to them.
Yes, they can be incredibly rude in their fervor to convert
everyone else. That’s reason four to yellow rain on their
parade.
I’ve gone through spells of being a vegetarian, so I’m not
completely hostile to that practice. It’s just that
vegans take it too far on about five fronts.
1. They are focused on ending all beef and other animal
based products.
2. They have taken it to the extreme, no dairy byproduct
can be consumed.
3. They demand everyone else convert.
4. They are as annoying as can be.
5. They aren’t bashful about damaging pre-existing
businesses.
So vegetarian, why not if you want? When it gets to the
point that you can’t drink cow milk, eat cheese, cottage
cheese, and other products along those lines, veganism
should be a red flag for an eating disorder.
This is not to take people to task who have a medical
reason for avoiding these products. Their bodies are
negative impacted by things that make us stronger.
I really don’t care what the bunny rabbits eat; I just know that when breaded and deep fried in lard with some salt and pepper they taste really good!
Maybe a little squeeze of lemon or lime.
Excuse me, you’ve given me the food that my food eats.
Dinner plate still steaming, but I just lost my appetite. Now everything looks like sh**. Oh well, I should be eating less food anyway.
Breakfest of champions!
I see what you just said! you should be ashamed of yourself (not)
Vegan...Wiccan. I can never keep the two of them straight.
John Kellogg (1852-1943) was a militant vegetarian which hurt the cereal business and caused his little brother, Will, to take over the company. Moral of the story: everyone is infected with stubbornness, even bright people like John Kellogg. Further, vegetarians are wrong about avoiding animals with eyes.
I remember reading Watership Down years ago and they were talking about the rabbits eating pellets, which I didn’t quite understand what it was. Now I do.
