On Wednesday’s broadcast of CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) responded to people who are concerned about being audited due to increased funding for the IRS in the Inflation Reduction Act reconciliation bill by stating that “if people are honest about their taxes, this won’t be an issue.”
Co-host asked, “When you think about the IRS…there’s a lot of commotion, a lot of talking points around the fact that 87,000 employees — 87,000 people will be working at the IRS and what that means for your chance of — not just your chance of getting audited, but the cost of getting audited for people who are either running small businesses or for individuals who can’t afford it. What do you tell them?”

Sounds eerily like the civilian police force Obama spoke about in 2008: “We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.”
Well, what do you know! And hasn’t it been the IRS buying up, stockpiling ammunition in recent years?
What the hell does the IRS need with 87,000+ additional employees, and especially in jobs like this one?
If I were a Republican politician, I’d start pushing for a flat tax.
Actually, it did. It kept the upper castes securely in power, and stopped any worries about competition from the lower castes. Indian society is an entrenched aristocracy, and they want the same here, with themselves as the aristocrats.

Those changes are just part of the reason. The other part is the switch to an all digital currency. It will take an army to enforce the switch to digital.
Anyone bartering after a certain date for good and services can expect to be audited.
Anyone with a history of owning gold or silver can expect to be audited.
They are setting up to go after the black market or alternative economy after the change over to digital.
The Departments of Agriculture and Education are doing the same thing.
Yup. The IRS is free of due process obligations. IRS SWAT teams will freeze bank accounts, seize property and evict Trump supporters to collect SJ reparations. Baby Castro would be proud of the scope of this totalitarian scheme.
The issue was my brother is a Truck Driver, but he also owns several houses and condos he rents out. Well because he is on the road all the time, I take care of the financial side of it for him (repairs and the like). Say an AC unit goes out, I hire somebody to replace it, pay for it, send him the bill and he deposits the money into my bank account. Well last year, he had some roofing work done on several of his properties, which means throughout the year he deposited close to $30,000 in my bank account, now of course not a penny of this was "earnings" it was just reimbursements for things I already paid for out of my own pocket.
But the IRS flagged it and tried to claim it was "unreported income". So, I had to gather a years' worth of receipts and hire an accountant to document I had paid every penny out of pocket and the money going into my account was just a reimbursement. Finally got the notice about a week ago that every was kosher and I didn't owe anything else, but that was after months of worry and countless hours and dollars spent.

NOT TRUE. The tax laws are impossible to understand, and this is deliberate. Everybody can be found in violation of the tax laws. The little person cannot fight the irs, and just pays. Small businesses will decide that it’s just not worth it, and close.
Many liberals don’t pay their taxes and that includes many sitting government representatives but I’m sure they’ll be exempt.
Well, if they stick to the requirements, none of them will be democrats..
“won’t be an issue” if you’re a Democrat.
They won't want to argue with the auditors, while they reduce the size of the credits: more taxes, interest and penalties.
Do not forget that these 87,000 new IRS agents will be trained by managers that helped make the IRS the least liked federal agency to work for.
