Inside Liz Cheney’s Coordinated Effort To Prevent Troop Deployment Before Jan. 6

Days before the Capitol riot provoked a years-long effort to impeach, prosecute, and politically malign former President Donald Trump, Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney coordinated efforts to deter the very actions she now claims haunt the former president.

Cheney has blamed Trump for not ordering the National Guard to defend the Capitol complex, even though multiple sources confirm that he authorized their deployment days prior to the Jan. 6 rally at the White House and riot at the Capitol. Security officials in charge of the Capitol declined to call up troops to protect it, government records show.

Yet Cheney herself seems to have orchestrated opposition to use of the military to quell election-related unrest, allegedly organizing a Washington Post op-ed on Jan. 3, 2021, signed by every living former defense secretary.

“All 10 living former defense secretaries: Involving the military in election disputes would cross into dangerous territory,” the headline read. It went on to threaten any military official who thought any use of the military might be a good idea. “Civilian and military officials who direct or carry out such measures would be accountable, including potentially facing criminal penalties, for the grave consequences of their actions on our republic,” the op-ed warned.

The op-ed was allegedly organized by Cheney, whose father was secretary of defense under President George H.W. Bush before serving as President George W. Bush’s vice president. Eric Edelman, a national security adviser to Dick Cheney, told the New Yorker the Wyoming lawmaker “was the one who generated” the piece for the Post.

Now Rep. Cheney has adopted Trump’s supposed inaction on the National Guard as a primary line of attack. On “Fox News Sunday,” Cheney again depicted Trump as an apathetic leader who dismissed pleas to deploy the National Guard while the Capitol was under siege.

Notice the word game here. She use the word “ordered” the NG verses “authorized” the NG. She knows the law states that the president can not deploy the NG in Wash. D.C. without an official request from the capital police and the D.C. mayor. All he can do is authorize the deployment of the NG, which he did.

“Cheney isn’t the story here - the story is why these former defense secretaries DID NOT WANT THE CAPITOL TO BE DEFENDED.”

Its because the agent provocateurs that were hanging on rafters waiting for a “go signal” to start busting windows and fighting cops wouldn’t have gotten near the Capitol.

The Capitol Police open the door to the East Rotunda and suddenly you have normal protesters walking through a “restricted area.”

The kangaroo committee is a joke, if they weren’t a joke they would’ve segregated the protesters from the window breakers and cop fighters instead of gas lighting ‘on and on’ about an insurrection.

Seems like they nevertrumpers were afraid that Trump was going to use the National Guard to stay in power, and so, blocked the guard. Someone may have fed them such nonsense.

I sure hope you are right, Sarah! She MUST be sent packing!

EVIL has permeated American politics FRom the Founding get-go, but over my lifetime (I am 81) it has got VERY MUCH worse!

Post-Civil War EVIL set the stage for Wilson and FDR, and FDR ratcheted EVIL way up; LBJ was worse. Clinton and Ophonybama continued, and Sloe Joe and The Hoe’s administration are continuing/expanding the tradition of LIEberal EVIL.

I am not prepared to call Republican Presidents evil, but there have been some shady doings in Republican administrations. The real damage to America’s Constitutional Republic has been done by Democrat (and Republican!) LIEberals!

The bureaucracies have ALWAYS BEEN EVIL, AS HAVE LOBBYISTS!

I am hopeful that the EVIL in government can be flushed out, but I remain a skeptic!

Yup. They declined protection, inserted their agents provocateurs, staged an "insurrection" in which no one was killed except an unarmed woman, and then used it to take the heat off or their shameless theft of a national election. All with the willing assistance of the national media.

We have become a Banana Republic no better than Mexico or Venezuela.

It is not that they did not want the capitol defended.

What they did not want was President Trump to have armed soldiers there, to thwart the coup taking place.

What they were afraid of was the president using the armed forces to protect the US Constitution, from enemies domestic.

THAT is why "they" did not want soldiers, under the control of the current CIC, loitering around the congressional offices at that time.

Cheney’s embrace of hypocrisy as a guiding political principle shows she has all along been a Dim in GOP clothing.

Her political career is over with as a republican in WY. I can’t imagine any state voting for someone who so clearly is a traitor and a liar. If she wants to run as a Marxist democrat, because that’s what she is, she is welcome to try.

She can always run in NY as a RAT carpetbagger. They seem to love that stuff.
