Israel's Law on Reducing the Use of Cash came into force in 2019 and next week, on August 1, the threshold for cash transactions is set to drop from NIS 11,000 to just NIS 6,000.

The best way to boil a frog is to do it slowly. The frogs will never know what happened.

You will live in a pod, eat the bugs, own nothing, and be happy.

That’s a pretty small amount..

I remember the shekel used to be worth about a quarter...
So it would be illegal to buy a washer/dryer for cash???
Gawd amitey...

That’s only about $1,800 USD.

After stopping us from accessing our bank money, if any, the next step is to come after the stash in the home cookie jar. As FDR did, print a new bill and allow a few months to turn in the old ones for the new ones before the old ones are deemed worthless. In Venezuela, you were only allowed to trade in a certain amount for payment in kind. After 200k or so, you only got 10c on the dollar for trade ins.
Next, go after the hoarded gold by making it illegal to own more than one ounce, ala FDR again.
If the Nazis caught a family hoarding, they were shot in the street and neighbors were paraded by the bodies.
Trouble is, the American Nazis are doing it arse backwards as the Germans took the guns away first.

1) This is only $1760 at current exchange rates. That is a pretty low limit for cash. Unmentioned in you excerpt is the the private transaction limit is now NIS 15,000 ($4400) and car purchases are cash limited to NIS 50,000 (14,667). These are still pretty low and frankly none of a governments business. Reporting large cash transactions, given frequent use in crime, is reasonable, but prohibitions are not.

2) I concur with your bullfrog comment, however I recommend that in the future you post it separately. My fist impression was that it was in the article cited and it was not.

An old Jewish lady once told me she and her husband fled Germany with gemstones sewn into their clothing...

Is it going to come to such things here?

I used to consider Israel as a possible place to flee if the US went completely bonkers... looks like that is a non-starter :-/

Criminals also frequently drink water - so (by that logic) all citizens should be required to report their consumption of water!

It sounds like Israel is starting to run out of other people’s money.

Israel may still be such a place, after it has been nearly destroyed and they repent of their self-sufficiency.

[That’s only about $1,800 USD.]

You can bet the (following) day will come. It will not happen tomorrow. There must be the 7-year deal of 'Peace and Security'. The man who will become Satan's anti-messiah will (somehow) "confirm" this deal. The term 'Peace and Security' has already been used for decades. Frankly, JK got further than almost anyone. I'm not happy to report that; but it is just as important as if Barry had gotten that far.

Cash is going to be fully-replaced by all digital currency, IMHO. Now I can't prove that from the Bible so I admit that is just a guess. However, there is evidence it is heading that way (for example, ATMs becoming scarcer in Australia - this article was on FR awhile back).

And the sheer idiocy going on against farmers, in many spots around the world could bring famine on unprecedented levels, given the current size of the world's population. Sure, it sounds like alarmism but look at what's happening as farmers are organizing protests. Meanwhile, the talking heads at CNN and MSNBC worry about "Climate Change". There will be no "Climate Change" comparable to Armageddon when the Real Messiah Returns and the world's armies that oppose Him are put down quickly. THIS is what the world needs to take seriously; they're worshiping the creation rather than the Creator and His Messiah as they should.

The wake-up call to the world will come via the Dragon's (Revelation 12) false messiah and false prophet. They will rule for 7 years (more info for the thread).

The world will want to UNite in the face of such a crisis.

And right in the middle of the 7 years, after 1,260 days:

“The stated purpose of the law is to force the general public to use digital means of payment rather than cash, so that transactions can be easily monitored. “

We’ll be longing for the “good old days of 2019 lockdowns” soon enough.

This world is headed for genocide.

I sure am glad i know what is coming in the next life.

I cannot fathom how those who have no hope for the afterlife are going to be facing these days.

Perhaps there might be some validity to the thought that there will be one last *revival* before the end, although not as the word of faith people think, but because of the hopelessness and despair confronting so many people as things continue to deteriorate at ever increasing rates.

Those who have no hope have a love for bottles these days.

Pill bottles and booze bottles.

Suicide prevention lines have skyrocketed over the past 2 years.

We who Name Christ as our Savior have more to look forward to than words can describe. I’m not concerned about cages or death - but I know my poor kids are going to suffer.

“Revival” will come with the 2 Witnesses IMHO. Not this side of the Harpazo. There’s too much Apostasy and frauds for Pastors these days.

Would this,
could this,
should this ignite a “barter system” at the grass roots level? What would be the ramifications? How would this work with “bitcoin” standing in the wings?

Just some thought.

How is Israel self-sufficient? It receives massive annual subsidies from the U.S., Germany, and even (I have heard) from Britain.
