Israel may still be such a place, after it has been nearly destroyed and they repent of their self-sufficiency. How is Israel self-sufficient? It receives massive annual subsidies from the U.S., Germany, and even (I have heard) from Britain.

Israel’s self-proclaimed enemies cumulatively receive far more ‘help’ from comparatively wealthy Western Civilization than does Israel. Stop all of it and Israel will do even better than it does now.
