AUSTIN, Texas - California Gov. Gavin Newsom is targeting Texas Gov. Greg Abbott by placing full-page advertisements in three Texas newspapers.
The ads, which ran Friday in the Austin-American Statesman, the Houston Chronicle and the El Paso Times, feature a modified quote from Abbott about Senate Bill 8, which bans abortion in Texas after six weeks.
The quote from Abbott reads "Our creator endowed us with the right to life. And yet…children lose their right to life every year because of abortion. In Texas, we work to save those lives." The ad then shows abortion crossed out with "gun violence" written above it, Texas crossed out with "California" written above it and Greg Abbott's name crossed out with Gavin Newsom's written below it.
Newsom has also previously criticized Abbott about his response to gun violence following the mass shooting in Uvalde that left 19 students and two teachers dead in May.

Yes. Notice how he uses Gov. Abbott's title, but not his own, as if he doesn't want people to think he is "just" a governor.
He also has no clue that anyone outside of his California "base" either has no idea who he is, or thinks he's an Andrew Cuomo-level freak.
