House GOP lawmakers applaud Pence for his role on Jan. 6

House Republican lawmakers applauded former Vice President Mike Pence for his actions on Jan. 6, 2021, giving him a warm reception as he spoke to members of the conservative Republican Study Committee on Capitol Hill on Wednesday.

Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) thanked Pence for showing courage that day, sources in the room said.

“He was congratulated for showing the courage that he did on January 6, and frankly, everyone in the room clapped, myself included,” said Rep. Dan Meuser (R-Pa.). “It was, of course, what he should have done. I mean, it was the constitutional thing to do.”

Pence’s ceremonial role presiding over the joint session of Congress on Jan. 6 to certify the Electoral College count from the 2020 election cemented President Biden’s win.

Then-President Trump had pressured Pence to unilaterally reject Electoral College votes from certain states that Biden won so that Trump would be found the winner. Trump had falsely claimed there was mass fraud in several states that led to his legitimate loss.

On Jan. 6, 147 lawmakers voted to object to the electoral results, including many members of the Republican Study Committee and its chair, Rep. Jim Banks (R-Ind.). At the time, Roy argued against objecting to the votes.

The topic of the 2024 presidential election came up in the meeting, Meuser said, but added that Pence’s focus was on the 2022 elections.

Pence was always a coward. He didn’t even stand up for his state’s religious freedom act.
Did he even thank Trump for nominating the justices that overturned Roe v Wade?

The children of foreigners ARE born foreigners, they inherit the foreign nationality of their foreign parent(s).

The natural born citizen clause has already been breached by Obama and Harris.

You do know there were objections raised during the process and they were all eventually dismissed and the VP read the votes into the record.

Have you ever seen the video "It wasn't me" by "Shaggy"?

It features a man cheating on his girlfriend and she catches him red handed. The song is about advice he gets from a friend to simply keep telling her "it wasn't me."

This is in the category, "Who are you gonna believe? Me or your lying eyes?"

I don't care if the corrupt evil congress "dismissed" the accusations. I consider them quite real and quite serious, and any rational person who is informed about the issue should have considered them quite real and quite serious as well.

Had the evidence actually been weighed and found wanting, that would have been one thing, but this constant demand to simply ignore the evidence demonstrates an effort to railroad through a corrupt process.

An actual man would have said "No. I will not allow this to go forward."

There seems to be a great divide between the voters and the political representatives.

.
Pence isn’t done.

The $5 Million book, New Mansion, and No show Swamp position isn’t enough.

He and the greedy little lady want more.

It’s all about $$$$

And If you think the House GOP that Approved the Vax Database $$$ and spent Trillions on Joe’s projects are going to really Investigate him, please don’t operate a vehicle.

He reminds me of Kasich. Wanting to be rewarded for being sensible, compromising and moderate.

But millions waited between Reagan and Trump to vote for someone to actually do something the Dems didn’t find acceptably weak.

“He fulfilled his role according to the Constitution.”

He did. When a mob of President Trump’s supporters stormed the Capitol building on Wednesday, they forced an emergency recess in the Congressional proceedings to officially certify the results of the 2020 presidential election. The disruption came shortly after some Republican lawmakers made the first of a planned series of highly unusual objections, based on spurious allegations of widespread voter fraud, to states’ election results. The chambers were separately debating an objection to Arizona’s results when proceedings were halted and the Capitol was locked down.

When the Senate reconvened at 8 p.m., and the House of Representatives an hour later, the proceedings — including the objection debates — continued, although some lawmakers who had previously planned to vote with the objectors stood down following the occupation of the Capitol. Plans to challenge a number of states after Arizona were scrapped, as well — but one other objection, to Pennsylvania’s results, also advanced to a vote. Here are the eight senators and 139 representatives who voted to sustain one or both objections.

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/01/07/us/elections/electoral-college-biden-objectors.html

Unfortunately there were only 147 republicans of the group that voted not to certify so they were voted down. Pence, as the president of the senate, had no vote and was forced to do his job. It matters little if the objections were true or not. And you’ll notice only 8 senates voted to strike down the vote out of 100. Pence is not the problem, his hands were tied.

These pieces of sh*t need Joe Biden rammed down their throat, because their refusal to fight makes *THEM* responsible for what is happening now.

***********

I have been saying much the same thing for a long time (i.e., perennial GOP weakness is what makes the Dems so aggressive).

If the GOP would stand up to the Dems and fight now and then things would be a lot different in this country.

The GOP is a complete and total waste. Its a fake party.

In all honesty, Pence didn’t really hurt Trump, he hurt Biden by doing what he did. I believe we are much closer to getting rid of the Cabal because of it. If Trump were still in office , 90% of everything that came out about Biden and son wouldn’t have mattered. The media would still be obsessed with destroying Trump. Elections would still be stolen in perpetuity. Abortion being overturned during his tenure would be a media Blitzkrieg. I could go on and on. If that was not part of the plan then God had Trump’s back because it surely didn’t work out for the Dems, Biden or Pence

“Pence’s ceremonial role presiding over the joint session of Congress on Jan. 6 to certify the Electoral College count from the 2020 election cemented President Biden’s win.”

And there’s the problem.
It was treated like an event instead as part of the Electoral Process. In reality the certification of electors by the Vice President is the last line of defense against fraud in national elections.
In reality Mike Pence-il neck refused to do his job.
Way to go shite for brains.

The Rats’ current failures may be the only thing to break their hold on the fed gov’t-- that our public education system has made possible. I'm voting for the candidates that come closest to shoving it up the Prog’s donkey, just as Reagan advised. Hope it's Trump; but Pence, De Santis etc. will do, if it comes to that.

If the VP role is to rubber stamp election certification, as some contend, why is that role even needed?

The 12th Amendment requires it.
