Republicans Begin To Sour On Aid To Ukraine
Yahoo News ^ | 7/19/22 | Jonathan Nicholson

Posted on 07/19/2022 11:19:12 AM PDT by JonPreston

Rep. Matt Gaetz, the firebrand House Republican from Florida, said as much in a July 1 exchange with Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.). Answering a Tweet from Gallego that said “Fact is if the Republicans take over the House in 2022 US support to Ukraine will come to a halt,” Gaetz replied, “Ruben is correct.”

At a recent rally in Anchorage, Alaska, Trump riffed on the cost so far, misstating the amount spent.

“Like with Ukraine, we put up $60 billion and Europe put up $5, 6 [billion]? OK?” he said, drawing boos from the crowd. (Through early July, Congress has authorized about $54 billion for assistance not only to Ukraine, but to neighboring countries as well in response to the Russian invasion. )

And Trump is by no means alone among Republicans. On the last aid package, 11 GOP senators voted against more money, including Kentucky’s Rand Paul.

“We don’t have any money for anyone,” he told HuffPost. “I mean, we’re a trillion dollars in the hole every year. So any money that is allocated to send to a foreign country has to be borrowed first from another foreign country.”

Well -sonovabitch——

This is nothing more than Biden and Company stealing like Hunter did. This plus covering for Hunter and Joe’s fleecing of Ukraine over several years (IE: Taking a commission for the US giving them money).

They all do this crap, the Bush family shook down everyone and everything it touched. The SOB’s never worked a day in their lives.

Borrowing from other countries is so passe’. It’s much easier just to have your own central bank give it to you.

I would expect Zalenskyy’s embrace of the gay lifestyle would increase support from these guys.

This news doesn’t carry much weight among the ex MAGA crowd always lecturing me. Most have been calling for Operation Ukrainian Freedom since this began.

The US led Ukrainian battle cry should be, “Remember, “Well SOB, the prosecutor got fired”. That’s what the administration wants to continue fighting for. They take many hapless neocons along for the ride.

I soured on it from the start. And it’s not finished. When Russia pulls out, biden will send at least a hundred billion to Ukraine for “rebuilding”. He’s got a big debt to pay off. What information is Ukraine holding that it has told biden it will release if he doesn’t send the money?

“Trump riffed on the cost so far, misstating the amount spent.”

So Trump says $60 billion and the real number (so far) is $54 billion and Yahoo calls him out on it. Biden said 150,000,000 Americans have died by gunfire since the repeal of the Assault Weapons Ban during a televised debate and...crickets.

If only Ukraine had stuck to growing food crops and stayed out of the money laundering racket.

“Were we sold a bill of goods on Ukraine?”

I’m afraid there are many among us who shop for such things. They love this.

>>“60 billion would have been a good down payment on a new refining plant.”<<

Or a LNG liquefaction plant complete with loading facilities to supply Europe’s needs for this coming winter.
Their energy needs will NOT be met by their windmills and solar panels together.
