It is an affluent community north of Chicago...
Ravinia outdoor concerts every summer there...It is next to Chicago Botanic Garden.
Sad this happened because it is a very nice area.
Oswald was around 28. Four year Marine, in good shape. He worked in the book depository and the Mannlicher was more carbine size than long rifle so could have been wrapped to be unobtrusive.
Sad thing is that as of 7/1 (not updated for 7/4 holiday day/nite yet), in City of Chicago, of 69 shootings, 12 have died from shooting and 57 were wounded; won’t be a peep about this as it happens nearly EVERY weekend in Chicago...

To me it was a mag changing pause. Unless they started to run and he looked for a confused group in a different area that hadn’t ran yet. Hope they catch him. Wonder if he will be found dead.
I know-—I was born there, went to High School there, and am well aware of the demographic breakdowns of all the towns in the area, even though I haven’t lived anywhere near there since the mid 70s. I grew up in working class Highwood, just a mile down Green Bay Road. I am mystified by every aspect of this incident, logistically and otherwise.
And they have liberal politics foremost on their minds. I heard a caller to a TV station, a woman named Dana who was present at the parade and helped evacuate a young kid separated from his parents in the chaos. She helped find the parents, and reunited them. Obviously a very emotional experience. But when asked to say her final thoughts in the call she said it was time to implement gun control.
No kidding, she actually said that. Not something to support those who lost loved ones, or condolences to fellow residents, or anything else about a horrible terrorist attack. The blood hasn't been washed off the sidewalk yet and she's focused on politics and how to achieve liberal political goals.
To me it was very disconcerting.
Because that's the guy the FBI recruited for yet another orchestrated mass shooting.
