HIGHLAND PARK, Ill., July 4 (Reuters) - Six people were killed and at least two dozen injured when a rooftop gunman opened fire at a Fourth of July parade in the wealthy Chicago suburb of Highland Park on Monday, turning a civic display of patriotism into a scene of panicked mayhem.

Not familiar with Highland Park- is this a crap area or a somewhat decent area of Chitcago?
We can be sure this wasn't a Conservative Christian Patriot who loves America and wanted to celebrate our Independence Day.
We can also be sure that somehow...in some way, that's the group of people who will be blamed for the evil that occurred today.
How come when there’s a mass shooting in other parts of the country it’s big news in the MSM, but when it’s Chicago I only see it on FR?

I surmise it depends on the rifle left behind. If stolen, clean of prints, then yes,
after the massacre left behind makes diabolical sense.
If a functioning armalite, that would fit the narrative.
Set the video to 1/2 speed or 1/4 speed and you can count the shots easily. They don’t sound like gunshots so you might have to listen through once to understand what you’re hearing.
The first round of fire consisted of 11 shots the second round of fire consisted of 23 shots.
That’s my guess as well

Lots came out of the woodwork demanding a ban on “sniper rifles” which were common hunting rifles.
Worth noting in this shooting massacre is that Illinois no longer has the death penalty.....it was abolished in 2009 by then-governor Pat Quinn (Democrat).

Yeah, I was just briefing my daughter, who is way too young to have much knowledge of JFK assassination lore, about the logistics of this event in HP, and about the Mannlicher Carcano rifle “Found” in the Sniper’s Nest at the TSBD building..... lots of unanswered questions-—just regarding how a shooter (young, slight of build, also)with presumably a LONG rifle could have ascended to a second or third story roof with a weapon like that. Presumably he started firing soon after the parade started, ditched the rifle on the roof,of course, and made his way through and away from? the crowd.....having said all that, I grew up in this town went to High School there, and have been back and through it numerous times since then (decades ago) So this is of PARTICULAR interest to me. It is indeed as good an example of “something like that couldn’t happen here” as I can think of. The real and true identity of the shooter, I feel, is going to be a mind-blower, and reveal a lot more about our conceits than the previous two, (who did you notice, were also very young guys, the first with a distinctly anti-black bias) As for Highland Park, I grew up two miles down the road,in the Italian-American working class enclave of Highwood and I know the make-up of every town in the area, and I can’t figure it out.

Highland Park is not Chicago. It is not in Lake County and is primarily white—So mayor of Chicago doesn’t factor in here that I see.
Sounds like the recently passed gun control bill didn’t go far enough for the feds.
