There is nothing in the Constitution about abortion, and the Constitution does not implicitly protect the right.
No hate from me. Imagine if Merrick Garland had been confirmed in 2016.
Mitch is good for one thing.
for the very few...if any...that watch Masterchef Jr ....the judge on that show -Daphne Oz is the daughter of Dr Oz.
Note the phrasing in the opinion, top of page 11: “The regulation of a medical procedure that only one sex can undergo...”
That’ll explode a few skulls right there. :)
They added today as an extra day. Drop this on a Friday and get out of dodge. Can’t blame them.
Bttt.

all true...but still....unexpected!
“It’s now up to each state to pass laws which deal with abortion.”
Yep, took the courts out of the process. However, lefties and their lapdog media will be saying the SCOTUS has outlawed abortion.
It was 6-3.
about that, there is no question! absolutely 100% correct!
DOBBS v. JACKSON WOMEN’S HEALTH ORGANIZATION BREYER, SOTOMAYOR, and KAGAN, JJ., dissenting "The reasons for retaining Roe and Casey gain further strength from the overwhelming reliance interests those decisions have created. The Court adheres to precedent not just for institutional reasons, but because it recognizes thatstability in the law is “an essential thread in the mantle of protection that the law affords the individual.” Florida Dept. of Health and Rehabilitative Servs. v. Florida Nursing Home Assn., 450 U. S. 147, 154 (1981) (Stevens, J., concurring). So when overruling precedent “would dislodge [individuals’] settled rights and expectations,” stare decisis has “added force.” Hilton v. South Carolina Public Railways Comm’n, 502 U. S. 197, 202 (1991). Casey understood that to deny individuals’ reliance on Roe was to “refuse to face the fact[s].” 505 U. S., at 856. Today the majority refuses to face the facts. “The most striking feature of the [majority] is the absence of any serious discussion” of how its ruling will affect women."
What was the law before Roe, ladies? Why should anyone state Roe is 'settled law'? What was the stare decisis before Roe? "That which has come before."
The issue properly belonged to the states, did it not? And is there any real argument that the 'penumbra', if it exists, is for each state to decide.
But look how quickly the Dissenters abandoned "stare decisis" -- ONE SENTENCE LATER.
"How its ruling will affect women."
Women that are already born. Women, that if they are as dumb as Sotomayor, should not be procreating, should not be attempting to procreate.
Almost makes me want to tune in MSNBC for the long faces. Almost.
“There are 6 conservatives. Why was it 5-4?”
Prolly because there aren’t 6 “real” conservatives on the court.
Yes. Follows the Tenth Amendment....Roe v Wade was a horrible decision.
Gotcha, thanks.
Why would it be struck down? SCOTUS is saying the legislature(s) can do what they want. It isn’t the courts’ business.
Mitch is 80% bad. This came from the 20% good part
Thanks.
My thoughts Also,
.
The Issue is never the issue.
.
The Issue is
‘The Revolution!’
.
God help us.
Because the decision was 6-3. Roberts went with the majority vote, but he wrote his own opinion, rather than signing on to Alito's opinion.
Yup....If the congress and senate wish to federalize abortion making it legal in all fifty states then abortion becomes a personal and local election debate in every congressional district and state. I predict Pelosi might try to make legilation and that the present congress and senate will demur on the subject until after election day while letting the kerfluffles percolate in the media. Some will try to run on it pro or con. Still the court was right to send it back to the states and the federal legislature. The Roe V Wade Ruling has been a stinker since 1973.
They will make threats to pass something I think in the congress but they’ll hold back on doing something allowing their “violence partners” to punish righteous people to soften the ground(they hope) first.
