This is a very cheaply made movie but it does convey the image of America, especially DC, portrayed in the book. I don’t know how many have read the book but a few minutes of this might pique your interest. We are living the prequel. It’s a shame Hollywood didn’t make this back in the 50s. Gary Cooper would have made a great Hank Reardon.

"Gary Cooper would have made a great Hank Reardon."
Didn't he play the lead in Rand's other great novel "The Fountainhead"?

There are several that could use a good accurate remake, this being one of them. So far they’ve done a good job with Dune as I’m patiently waiting for the second part to drop.

Right,
It was in 3 parts, but the actors changed from part to part. Hank Reardon was great in the first part, then a completely new actor played him in part 3. It made it difficult to watch.
Having said that, I agree about Gary Cooper as Hank Reardon. As good as he would have been in that role, he was horribly cast in the role of Howard Rourk in The Fountainhead. The only similarity of his role to architecture was that he was stiff as a board.
Just my 2 cents worth.

I doubt that Hollywood wants Atlas Shrugged made into a movie.

It's been nearly 30 years since I last read Atlas Shrugged. It was in the summer of 1995. I'll have to put that on my list to re-read to see how much more of that book has come true.
I remember really liking the Dagny Taggart character.

Awful. Badly made. AS should be done as a period piece, 1930ish time frame. A 10 part (at least) series might be able to do it justice. The problem, due to its anti commie content I doubt any major studio would touch it. A shame actually.

I’ve read Atlas Shrugged three times. Looks like a good time to reread it.

Make ------ fiction again.
(a) Atlas Shrugged
(b) Camp of the Saints
(c) 1984
(d) All of the above.

I read Atlas Shrugged. I even read the entire John Galt speech. It could have benefited from some editing. Like maybe only 50 pages instead of 120?

Gary Cooper would have made a great Hank Reardon. I always envisioned Paul Newman as Hank Reardon.
Andy Garcia as Frisco d'Anconia.
I'd have to think a bit about the others.
