Yes, and IIRC, they used 3 completely different casts. Pretty asinine way of doing it, IMO.

Correct—I have the three disc “Atlas Shrugged Trilogy” DVD set—figured it would get censored out of existence at some point.
It was three parts. It took a while to produce. Actors changed, or aged. I figured there must have been push-back in Hollywood with some actors being black-listed as a result. The three parts are probably a testament to courage in their own right.
