Hume: ‘Many Republicans Would Privately Be Very Glad’ If 1/6 Probe Makes Trump Go Away
breitbart ^ | 13 Jun 2022 | PAM KEY

Fox News senior political analyst Brit Hume said Monday on FNC’s “Special Report” that many Republicans would be privately very happy if the House Select Committee, which is investigating the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot, damages Donald Trump to the point he can’t be the presidential nominee in 2024.

Anchor Bret Baier asked, “I guess the question still is, are they moving towards trying to make a legal case against Donald Trump, or one that is a political case to somehow prevent him from being a factor in 2024?”

Hume said, “Well, I think they’re doing both. Jamie Raskin, one of the committee members, has said, you know, part of what they’re doing is to create something that can be referred to the justice department for possible prosecution. What strikes me about this, Bret is that if they succeed – either by damaging him or staining him such that he is either unable or for legal or for political reasons to run again – they might end up finding out that they’ve done the Republican Party a great service, because I think a great many Republicans think they can’t win with Trump at the head of the ticket again. They are afraid of his supporters and don’t want to come out against him directly. But they’d like him to go away. If the effect of this committee is to make his possible candidacy go away, I think a great many Republicans would privately be very glad.”

I do similar. No vote for Snowe or Collins. Just skip that line in the ballot. I;d do the same in a close race too. Keep the DC kabuki interesting and “real!”

No money to GOP or RNC or any of the party apparatus. Individual candidates only.

It’s just a matter of time before things get really interesting and collapse. Living history!

When Britney says “Republicans”, she means Republican POLITICIANS (we little people/voters hardly exist to them)

So, he is exactly correct - Republican politicians fully assisted in the crooked 2020 election and are fully in support of these phony “trials”…

They all want Trump gone for good.

Excellent posts, CB. As an antique Russian interpreter I can only observe that so many in our republic have been insulated by so much wealth from so much trouble - that their normalcy bias precludes any clarity of vision. Particularly as regards the true nature of the leftist, the Bolshevik, the Maoist, the NSDAP totalitarian.

They are within striking distance of the “golden ring” of total power. They will stop at nothing now. Not even a Reichstagsfeuer, a violent false flag. We are Germany 1931, Russia 1913...an inflection point in the long trajectory of history...with great risk.
Prep & Pray!

He’s a member of the Country Club. You think he wants riff raff like Trump to join?

This just cements, for me, the notion that one of Trump’s key attractions was that he was not an establishment guy. The most unique presidential candidate we have ever had, in my opinion.

Which, as has been said many times, why he scares the hell out of them.

And therein lies the problem. “Many Republicans” are all too happy to lie, cheat, and steal to help them maintain power and rid themselves of a politician who threatens that power. They are no better than the corrupt scum on the left.

Hume was always a shill for the Bush family. He appears to want them back in charge of the Republican Party. All of these RINOs secretly opposed to Trump must be lustrated from the party by being primaried or dumped for third party/independent candidates in the general election.

Is it too early for Bret to call Arizona for the Dem in ‘24?

Trump was doing well. But he has liabilities.

He got us further in debt by trillions. He was surrounded by swamp creatures who blocked his plans. He spent too much time woofing with the Acosta’s in the press room.

Trump is a patriot. He will be Persistent again. So deal with it.

1) Lawyer Robert Barnes thinks there that an indictment of Trump is “very, very unlikely.” He thinks that the whole thing just designed to try to make it difficult for him to run. Won’t work.
2) Trump is NOT going away, little Brit. He will be the nominee. He will be reelected.

One more note to Hume: President Washington was right about political parties, wasn’t he...

...and foreign entanglements, too.

Where’s my clown suit, dammit. I would hate to disappoint them./s

Don't have a clown suit, though I'll be buying a Colonel Sanders outfit for Halloween.

The genesis of that idea came a few months ago, when I expanded my moustache to a goatee. The wife didn't like it, and said so...lol. She thought she'd get under my skin when she told me, "you look like Colonel Sanders."

The next day I was surfing the net for a Colonel Sanders outfit.

The gop did nothing to help Trump for 4 years. We saw them continue holding “Russian Collusion” investigations even after Mueller said there was nothing there. We saw them sit on their hands while Media-Dem Party operatives all over the country pushed mail-in voting and other changes which would make it easier for them to cheat. We saw them fight him on the border wall.

Hume is right, the GOP establishment would be glad if Trump was no longer a factor. That way they can go back to the cocktail circuit with their dem buddies, and collect their paychecks for having done nothing year after year.
