An Arizona man convicted of murder in the 1984 killing of an 8-year-old girl was put to death Wednesday in the state’s second execution since officials resumed carrying out the death penalty in May following a nearly eight-year hiatus.
Frank Atwood, 66, died by lethal injection at the state prison in Florence for his murder conviction in the killing of Vicki Hoskinson, whose body was found in the desert, Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich said in a statement.
Vicki went missing months earlier after leaving her home in Tucson to drop a birthday card in a nearby mailbox.

I'm willing to live with an imperfect justice system...because the only alternative is *no* justice system.
should of been done the same day as the virdict.
liberals, of course.
it’s always liberals.
We don't have to give the bad guys the royal treatment. But death had only been cheated by One Man. I can't get behind the chair etc.
Personally, the case of the Amiraults in Mass (and the coverage in the WSJ) helped turn the tide for me, and that wasn't even a capital case. In fact that sombich DA remained in power and unrepentant.
Vicki Lynne’s father died four years ago.

I really like DNA for *three* reasons: 1) it lessens the chances of an innocent person being charged/convicted 2) it increases the chances that a person wrongly convicted *before* DNA being exonerated and 3) it increases the chances of the truly guilty being caught, convicted and punished.
I think it’s 38 years.
I think it’s 38 years.
There is NO WAY to characterize this as swift or timely justice. NO WAY.
Brnovich is pretending to do his job.
So this convicted murderer of a little girl was given 40 years of housing accommodations, three meals a day, health care, recreation facilities while his little victim rotted in the dirt. And in Arizona and throughout America we call this JUSTICE ??????????????????????????
And why does it take 38 years to execute a death sentence?

Because stupid, brain-washed voters are duped and/or bought by politicians who have only one thing in mind: How to stay in office and by doing so getting wealthy at taxpayers expense.
He should’a been dead by 1985.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
He should have been dead within hours of his conviction. Hanged in the public square.
I say for these people, give them a sex change and sell them to ISIS to live out their days in Big Gay Omar’s Harem
Everybody is boo-hooing over how long this murderer was on death row. The girl died in terror while he goes out with a pillow under his head all nice and comfy. He got all that time with three meals a day and a place to stay while that girl is in the cold ground.
Yeah, way back in the 30’s and before it was maybe four or six months before execution.
In 1992, Lott opened fire inside the County Courthouse in Fort Worth, Texas, killing two lawyers and wounding three others, including two appellate judges. Lott had been indicted a few months earlier on aggravated sexual assault charges for sexually abusing his son. He was convicted, refused all appeals, and was executed two years later.
another crime is that this man got to live a full 35 years after conviction.
Most people are objecting that he should have been taken out and shot 35 years ago.
And he’s running for the Senate, isn’t he?
Of all the nerve. Does he think people are stupid?
