The Biden administration has remained silent on a key interstate natural gas pipeline facing significant permitting roadblocks. “Since the project’s inception, groups opposing energy infrastructure development have challenged the MVP project at every turn, filing dozens of petitions contesting MVP’s previously issued state and federal authorizations,” said Equitrans spokesperson Natalie Cox. “Ultimately, the decision on [the Mountain Valley Pipeline] is one that President Biden can influence,” climate group Food & Water Watch stated in October. The Biden administration has yet to take a public position on a major natural gas pipeline as the project faces an uphill federal permitting battle.
Equitrans Midstream, the energy company that proposed the Mountain Valley Pipeline (MVP) in 2014, delayed the project’s expected completion to late 2023 and said it would pursue new federal permits for a second time, in an earnings report published Tuesday. The project — a 303-mile pipeline that would transport natural gas from West Virginia to Virginia — faced another setback earlier this year after a federal appeals court struck down its Trump-era permits, ruling in favor of environmental groups.
Federal agencies involved in the MVP permitting process didn’t respond to requests for comment or declined to comment altogether, and the White House has yet to intervene in the matter despite soaring energy prices and pleas from a Democratic senator.
“After engaging with the federal agencies and evaluating all options, we believe the best path forward for MVP’s completion is to pursue new permits,” Thomas Karam, the chairman and CEO of Equitrans, said in a statement Tuesday. “To reflect the time required for permit re-issuance and to ensure safe, responsible project construction, we have revised our MVP in-service target to the second half of 2023.”
The total project cost of the pipeline has increased to $6.6 billion...

Diesel is $6.35 here.
Black Obama should be severely punished for prosecuting the war on coal
So they are using the old anti-nuclear playbook. Delay the projects so much that costs double or quadruple and then it is abandoned as “uneconomic.”
10 % for the Big Guy! (If you wanna finish that pipeline, that is).
Florida and Tennessee are at diesel $4.89
In Georgia, SC and NC the price is quite variable but in excess of $5.00 as of May 1 trip on I95 and I 26
But no more mean tweets....
If you don’t like gas prices you can buy an $80,000.00 EV folks.
They’d rather crow about killing babies. May God deal with them in His righteous judgment.
“Electricity prices will necessarily skyrocket”
BHO.
The SOONER the BETTER. We may not be a viable country in the near future. Venezuela make way here comes the USA.
Well paid politicians..many who have somehow become multimilionairs.. could care less.
Although they will spend billions..other people’s money.. accommodating illegals and doing their best to pay off other people college loans...
Indecision is a decision.
Stories like this are EXACTLY WHY Putin knows he can defeat the West when it comes to energy. If the Ukraine supporters in the US government won’t even allow a company to build a measly gas pipeline between two adjacent states, how the hell are we supposed to fill up the LNG Tankers, after we build the terminals for them?
Why would President Retard announce the further ripoff of American energy from the peasants? 🤪
Libtards love being ripped off at the pump and the thermostat
“Diesel is $6.35 here.”
No. It’s $5.07 here. /s.
Dead issue until the Regime ends, if it does.
Maine needs home heating oil. It’s over $6 a gallon. Susan Collins should be working on that, rather than virtue signalling leftie talking points.
Thinking in the $5.29 range in Reno.
No food now you get to starve to death being cold Biden administration plans on track.
