A Florida federal judge’s decision on Monday to ban mask-wearing requirements on public transportation was appealed on Wednesday by the Biden administration without a request for an immediate stay. The ruling led many travelers on planes, trains, buses and subways to drop the precaution, some in celebratory fashion. With COVID-19 now causing far fewer hospitalizations and deaths than seen for most of the past two years, such a policy change was probably only weeks away anyway — and the sense of relief it provided to many was easy to understand.
But there are at least 8 million Americans who are immunocompromised and at risk even from the weaker variants of the virus circulating in recent months, so it is essential that there be a broad public acceptance of the millions of Americans who are certain to still wear masks while riding transit, hitting the store or going anywhere in public — even outdoors. Those who live with the immunocompromised and/or care for them should be careful as well.

As long as you “respect the decisions” of the people who don’t, which you won’t.
Only if they respect my decision to NOT wear a mask.
I’m sick of being preached at that I need to accommodate every whim and fancy others may have to the point where I am expected to approve it and participate with it.
No pointing and laughing?
they are heroes now, like the putzes at the post office.
Exactly ... and your list is too short ... else we will be here all day writing.
Now that the tables have turned everyone is supposed to “play nice”. Yeh, right.... another example of feminizing our culture.
Article should have started right out of the gate how the rabid maskers were wrong for not respecting other people who chose not to wear masks and maybe, ... were... correct? And it was a great injustice for maskers to attack people who chose not to wear a mask, and then use the givernment to deny the unmasked (and unvaxxed) their rights of living in what was once a freer society. Therefore the maskers for maskers to be entitled to respect, they owe those they attacked a big sincere apology and need to say it for the next two years ... about the length of time they spewed their venom and hatred.
so NOW we have to respect different opinions
‘My bad. No hard feelings!’
actually, they’re not even saying that; they’re simply stating ‘respect me, just because’...
they will never admit to any ‘my bads’; never....
Sadly, since I restored my health, I can no longer accommodate my wishes on demand.
“Lethal weapon” was apt at one time; sometimes I long for days gone by. :)
I figure that those wearing masks are the same people who get their news from CNN and MSNBC or listen to NPR
Maybe they’re immune compromised because they don’t come into contact with enough germs?
I was shocked to see only about four people with masks in a crowded supermarket.
It was great to see all their faces.
Respect their decisions.
So I can respect a person as a child of God. But that doesn’t mean I respect their stupid decisions.
From the article. “No one should roll their eyes at — much less taunt or belittle — people who still wear masks. As always, the circumstances of strangers’ lives are unknown to all of us — and none of us have standing to judge legitimate health decisions people may be making.”
Where was this call for tolerance before? I think it was Kurt Schlicter who wrote an article about how it’s too late for unity after what they’ve done to us.
These are the people that forced our kids to wear masks for 2 years and forced people to lose their jobs for not taking an experimental shot.
Zero sympathy for these evil people.
We need to come up with a good term for those who continue to wear masks so we can easily point to them and ridicule them - “Hey look! It’s a _________”
but even then some had the mask pulled down under the nose.
***********
Never understood that reasoning. If your nose and mouth aren’t covered
then the mask is useless unless. But a lot wear them that way.
“I ridicule them every chance I get!”
Well, my wife has a severe lung condition and wears a mask occasionally to protect against particulates primarily, not viruses. If you’re absolutely sure you can tell the difference between someone with a medical condition versus others, I guess you can go ahead with the ridicule. On the other hand, if you end up hassling someone who is ill, that would kind of make you, I don’t know, a jerk?
Masks are the MAGA hats of the left. I hope they never take them off and would even encourage them to do so - makes it easier to pinpoint the morons among us.
If I’m familiar with people who are wearing masks now, and did before WuFlu, then I assume they’re legit. If they didn’t before, but are now (and have been for 2 years) then they’re idiots.
If I saw your wife out and about and didn’t know her, I’d assume health issues.
I wore one yesterday at the market. I wear it on top of my head. Got a lot of stares from the masked nuts.
