A Florida federal judge’s decision on Monday to ban mask-wearing requirements on public transportation was appealed on Wednesday by the Biden administration without a request for an immediate stay. The ruling led many travelers on planes, trains, buses and subways to drop the precaution, some in celebratory fashion. With COVID-19 now causing far fewer hospitalizations and deaths than seen for most of the past two years, such a policy change was probably only weeks away anyway — and the sense of relief it provided to many was easy to understand.
But there are at least 8 million Americans who are immunocompromised and at risk even from the weaker variants of the virus circulating in recent months, so it is essential that there be a broad public acceptance of the millions of Americans who are certain to still wear masks while riding transit, hitting the store or going anywhere in public — even outdoors. Those who live with the immunocompromised and/or care for them should be careful as well.

Anyone who wants to wear a mask is welcome to do so. I still do not understand people driving, alone in their car, wearing a mask.
Funny how these same pinheads didn’t respect the decisions of millions to not want to wear a mask. Fascism is a one-way street nowadays, with the direction always leftwards.

And by the way...Dr. Ashish Jha, the new Whitehouse spokes person said that wearing a mask DOES protect you...and to a high degree...even if no one around you is wearing one

A little kid yak on me on a plane once. I didn’t get mad (I almost yaked myself).

To paraphrase that, I would say:
"We'll have tolerance of mask wearing for them who have it coming."
I have no issue with people wearing masks or getting vaccinated, even though I think for most people it is idiocy. But I am willing to accept it at face value for anyone who doesn't force, hint, pressure, or publicly advocate for mask wearing and/or vaccination.
It should be a personal decision.

People want to wear masks, I have no problem with it. I respect their rights to make decisions about their health.
I just want people those people wearing masks to respect other people right to make choices as well. That has been, and will continue to be the conflict.

My compassion level is low at this point. After two years of shaming, firings, forced masking and shots, 2 year olds forced off planes; authoritarian pseudoscience and forced compliance, these stories make me want to punch through a wall. I don’t give a crap if other people choose to live in a fantasy version of reality and wear masks, but this media push to urge respect is vomit inducing.
