A Florida federal judge’s decision on Monday to ban mask-wearing requirements on public transportation was appealed on Wednesday by the Biden administration without a request for an immediate stay. The ruling led many travelers on planes, trains, buses and subways to drop the precaution, some in celebratory fashion. With COVID-19 now causing far fewer hospitalizations and deaths than seen for most of the past two years, such a policy change was probably only weeks away anyway — and the sense of relief it provided to many was easy to understand.
But there are at least 8 million Americans who are immunocompromised and at risk even from the weaker variants of the virus circulating in recent months, so it is essential that there be a broad public acceptance of the millions of Americans who are certain to still wear masks while riding transit, hitting the store or going anywhere in public — even outdoors. Those who live with the immunocompromised and/or care for them should be careful as well.

I was on 2 planes yesterday, I would say about 2.5% of the passengers wore masks, but even then some had the mask pulled down under the nose.
I dont’ care about what other people do. I insist they wear three masks if they are going to wear one, just to be safe.
Where were the articles stating “some choose not to wear masks, respect their decisions”??
Nowhere to be found. Instead, they were called murderers, etc.
You mean like they respected my decision not to get vaxed or wear a mask? I think not, I will ridicule them for the morons that they are.
Oh.....NOW it’s about respecting an individual decision.
We went from the unvaxxed/unmasked are killing people that should be immediately fired from their jobs, given dishonorable discharges from the military, forced shut into their houses, shunned by family, shunned by friends, denial of medical care, not allowed to visit dying parents/grandparents, booted from University and not allowed to buy food or sit in a restaurant…
To…
My bad. No hard feelings!
Oh no....Fook you.
I won’t say anything, but I have no respect for foolish cowards.
I will [reluctantly] respect their decision but will marvel at the ignorance of the healthy among them.
How many immune compromised wore masks 5 years ago? Why not? Well, because MASKS DON’T WORK AGAINST VIRUSES. A friend has 2 sons with compromised immune systems since birth. They didn’t wear masks during COVID, just as they didn’t wear them the previous 20+ years!
No, I do not need to respect stupid people.
The clueless libs deserve derision, but since we on the right actually have class, we leave them alone - while silently laughing at their silly virtue signalling and science illiterate *sses.
Virtue signaling loonies, and urban thugs who hide their faces for a reason.
One reason for wearing a mask that I’ve heard is, “I don’t want people’s spit to hit my face.”
Will they respect ours?
Now the enemedia is calling for respect.
That’s rich.
In any case, it’s not the decision that merits the respect, is it...
It’s the right to make to that decision for oneself that should be respected.
Which was news to the enemedia til now.
Go figure.
People that wear masks are by definition unable to understand the science either because of paralysis due to fear, wishful thinking, a controlling ideology or stupidity.
Just as I would not embarrass or attack the mentally deficient I will show the mask wearers courtesy. If people are immunologically compromised they should be well versed on the science related to bacteria & viruses. Immunocompromised people should avoid crowds and subways not rely on a mask unable to protect them.
No, I don't have to "respect" their decision. Many people do stupid things, I don't respect them, I just ignore them.
but even then some had the mask pulled down under the nose.
“Immunocompromised people should avoid crowds and subways not rely on a mask unable to protect them.”
Yes.
I’ve never worn a mask, no, not once since this whole circus started.
To be absolutely honest, I’ve never had a mask wearer chastise me for not wearing one either.
Live and let live.
Screw that. We put up with this from them:
I stand as close to them as I can, begging for a response. A cough here, a sneeze there. Blatant civil disobedience ought be on the table.
