Awhite nationalist displayed a toddler-like tantrum on his conservative show because he didn’t want to see Black people at the Country Music Awards. Patrick Howley, the right-wing reporter, first proved his ignorance when he failed to recognize the host of the show, Anthony Mackie.
“I don’t know who this Black guy is who’s hosting it. It’s supposed to be country music,” the bitter white man said as he showed a clip of the award show to his viewers. “No offense. Y’all have hip hop, basketball. Just fly with your flock, bro.”.....
“There were so many Black people there,” he said. “Sorry to say, but so many Black celebrities who have nothing to do with country music and it’s like— why?”
In typical racist behavior, the talking head tried to prove that he likes some Black people.
“No disrespect to the funky brothers,” he said. “I love Earth Wind and Fire, Run DMC, etc. But country music’s different. Country music’s different. It’s not Wakanda.”

Over my lifetime, I saw Mr. Pride three times. Twice, at the Colorado State fair with my parents and once 11 years ago at the Grand Ole Opry first row. He was not the headliner but he stole the entire show. Dang, he was good!

It’s probably because black female singers back then would rather sing in the jazz, soul, blues or Motown/pop style. I can’t think of any black female rock singers from that time either, except for Tina Turner. Joan Armatrading is more pop or folk.

I watched most of that show. I was familiar with just two stars, one of which was George Strait and he did not perform. Country music got rid of country music some time ago. Or as Tom Petty observed, country music today sounds like bad rock and roll.
I always wanted to go the the Grand Ole Opry, but since it is now televised, they have done us the favor of revealing how pathetic it is. I would not walk down the hall to see it live.
Weird that this puke is upset about a country awards show since a LOT of the current crop of ‘C&W’ celebs are big time libs anyway.

The significant majority of blacks in America are financially secure and living stable middle class lives and have no interest in this kind of radicalism. Assimilation has been going on under the radar for years now. Brighten up.
