White Reporter Has Meltdown After Seeing Black People At Country Music Awards: 'It's Not Wakanda'
Blavity ^ | Apr 15, 2022 | Tomas Kassahun

Awhite nationalist displayed a toddler-like tantrum on his conservative show because he didn’t want to see Black people at the Country Music Awards. Patrick Howley, the right-wing reporter, first proved his ignorance when he failed to recognize the host of the show, Anthony Mackie.

“I don’t know who this Black guy is who’s hosting it. It’s supposed to be country music,” the bitter white man said as he showed a clip of the award show to his viewers. “No offense. Y’all have hip hop, basketball. Just fly with your flock, bro.”.....

“There were so many Black people there,” he said. “Sorry to say, but so many Black celebrities who have nothing to do with country music and it’s like— why?”

In typical racist behavior, the talking head tried to prove that he likes some Black people.

“No disrespect to the funky brothers,” he said. “I love Earth Wind and Fire, Run DMC, etc. But country music’s different. Country music’s different. It’s not Wakanda.”

What bilge. Somebody nobody knows, uses his garage studio to comment on an awards show, and that gets the attention of Tomas Kassahun and his Blavity blog. Please stop.

If there is going to still be Black this and Black that....eg BET, the United Negro College Fund, the NAACP, separate graduations, separate dorms etc etc etc like there is, you cannot then complain when White people start demanding the same.

We Conservatives favor the Civil Rights movement. We actually believe in judging people as individuals on the basis of their own merits. You Lefties believe in tribalism. OK. Don’t beyotch when White people go tribal then. YOU pushed for it.

Those “black-specific” organizations are just the warning that assimilation is impossible/will never happen; they can’t or won’t compete with non-blacks, and will live in a self-segregated bubble of lowered expectations - while requiring the rest of us to play along and pretend this is working.

At first, I thought maybe he has a point there, then I realized how long it has been since I heard Country Music.

Charlie Pride? I remember when I would hear radio stations calling him the "Pride of Country Music."

I always regretted never getting to see his show.

So...Charlie Pride, Darius Rucker, Aaron Neville, and Carl Raye weren't country music performers? Who knew?

Tomas Kassahun is somebody that I certainly don't know, and from my perspective he's just like the other guy that nobody knows.

They believe in using grievance groups to gain power. If black people voted Republican, they would hate and condemn them in the most vicious ways.

Come to think of it, they actually do that to black people who vote Republican.

Always loved Charlie Pride's music, and he was completely accepted by the Country Music World.

For that matter, I kinda like Cowboy Troy.

Modern country music sucks. I haven't heard a good country music song since Darius Rucker did "Wagon Wheel."

Don't forget the young, up-and-comer, Nuke Bushner.

But there have been quite a few celebs (black, white and otherwise) who have nothing to do with Country music at the CMAs for years. It's kind of annoying.

All through the 60s and the 70s, the search was on for a black female that could sing passable country music. Far as I know, one was never found.

I guess this is why we sort of needed Ken Burns in spite of everything ...
