Sarah Palin, a former Alaska governor and the Republican nominee for vice president in 2008, said Friday that she was entering the race for Alaska’s lone congressional seat, marking her return to national politics after she helped revive the anti-establishment rhetoric that has come to define the Republican Party.
She will be joining a crowded field of nearly 40 candidates to fill the House seat left vacant by Representative Don Young, whose unexpected death last month has spurred one of the largest political shifts in the state in 50 years.
Ms. Palin said she planned to honor Mr. Young’s legacy, painting a dystopian picture of the nation in crisis, criticizing the “radical left,” high gas prices, inflation and illegal immigration.
“America is at a tipping point,” she said in the statement. “As I’ve watched the far left destroy the country, I knew I had to step up and join the fight.”

I like Sarah Palin and her arguments but she’s still ONLY arguing against “illegal” immigration when it is “legal” immigration that is the REAL time bomb.
Perhaps one can argue that we are not yet at a point where one can make such a criticism, but the truth is that day will NEVER come. The liberals will never willingly allow it and will always try to create obstacles. The window of opportunity to change is closing.
Conservatism must make a star turn and stop allowing the Left to determine the box in which we are “allowed” to argue.
Amen Sarah you are worthy of the job.
The RINO’s that hate you aren’t worthy of anything.
The corrupt RINO’s in Alaska were her concern the Murkowski Gang.
Those RINO’s are no better than Democrats its time to face the truth.
She and a cast of thousands apparently.
Good. Anyone with guts and grit (and Palin has those) who wants to oust Murkowski has my full and unmitigated support.
Exactly. People can make all the comments about her Jerry Springer-like personal life, but she loves her country. And we need people like her in government.
Better than the infomercials she’s had to do recently, and the Fed salary will help with the tab for her security if she wins.
Absolutely. We need her and she’s stepping back into the arena.
The website is fine for the day of her announcement. WinRed is a standard fundraising platform for the GOP.
Good idea!
Who was the investigative reporter who rented the house next to the Palins to dig up dirt on her. I remember she used to take him a cup of coffee in the mornings.
Just remember to uncheck the box that it’s a recurring donation, or they’ll hit your credit card every month. Of course, if you want it to be taken out every month, have at it.
It’s pretty sad when those are considered “every-day problems”.
No thanks. I still don’t consider those every-day.
She laid the groundwork for Trump, at a time when the Republican party was completely controlled by Bush/Mccain/Romney and other insane neocons. And she did it all alone, in the wilderness, while they destroyed her.
We would not have had Trump without the efforts and bravery of Palin.
Every America should celebrate this announcement! THank you Sarah!
Praise God and prayers up for Sarah Palin!
Video on it from a week ago.
She would have the House Seat for the entire state of Alaska.
P
Glad to see that Sarah Barracuda is getting back into the ring. She was a good Governor of Alaska. At the time, I was ecstatic when McCain picked her for VP. In hindsight, that was a hugh mistake for her and our Country.
I agree with Lee Martell’s post (#30 above) that she needs to stay focused on the issues and avoid allowing herself to take the media’s bait and get sidetracked.
A good read on her abilities is the book “Sarah Takes On Big Oil.” It was written by the authors of the pre-eminent Alaskan oil newsletter at the time.
We need her back in the game.
Lee martell is correct.
Palin took massive artillery, including from McCain’s crew, but she also had a part in her fall.
She should be older, wiser and less distracted now. The House is a good level for her to get back in the game.
