Homosexual groups sue Florida over law protecting parental rights

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Homosexual rights advocates sued Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Thursday to block a new law that forbids classroom instruction on homosexual and transgender topics in kindergarten through third grade.

The law states: “Classroom instruction by school personnel or third parties on sexual orientation or gender identity may not occur in kindergarten through grade 3 or in a manner that is not age appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards.” Parents would be able to sue districts over violations.

The challenge filed in federal court in Tallahassee on behalf of Equality Florida and Family Equality alleges that the law violates the constitutionally protected rights of free speech, equal protection and due process of students and families.

There are plenty of decent gay people who do NOT want to come after our children and ‘convert them’... Gay people woudn NOT want us teaching their children OUR values and we don’t wan tthem teaching our kids their values.

The solution might be to leave schools to teach reading, writing and arithmetic and allow lineal parents to teach their values to their kids and conservative parents to teach their values to their kids.

Separate out paid gay ‘activists’ from everyday citizens who happen to be gay. Do and the same with the black community and the Hispanic community. None of these groups are being represented fairly by Soros/commmie paid thugs.

They’re basically declaring there’s no such thing as sexual morality and parents shouldn’t be able to object to their influence.

I could be wrong, but I believe this bill was framed in such a way to prevent lawsuits against the state. Just like the Texas abortion bill, it’s parents/individuals that trigger the law not the state and hence the wrong party is being sued. A clever legal mechanism.

No one is violating free speech. Gay friendly parents can say what they want in their own homes.

Teachers are employees and don’t have free speech while on the job. They have a variety of laws restricting them. They bully, abuse, or seduce. They can’t neglect, demean, or misdirect.

Adding “can’t talk sexuality” to 4-8 year olds seems right in line with other restrictions.

Disney had been an icon of American wholesomeness. Unfortunately it came under the control of very vile people and is now a force for perversion. It is a real threat to American democracy and the American people. Yet will take repeated efforts in many ways to help the American people to understand and appreciate what Disney has become and what it is doing. Most conservatives will eventually understand and act accordingly. Hopefully Disney and its executives will be held accountable for the harm they are doing and have done.

Every school district makes decisions on what is allowable as part of the curriculum. This is no different. To argue it violates the 1st Amendment is like arguing that a school may not limit what courses are offered.
