MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Alabama welcomes visitors at the “First White House of the Confederacy,” a historic home next to the state Capitol where Confederate President Jefferson Davis lived with his family in the early months of the Civil War.
The museum managed by the state’s Department of Finance says it hosts nearly 100,000 people a year, many of them school children on field trips to see such things as the “relic room” where Davis’ slippers and pocket watch are preserved. Near the gift shop, a framed article describes Davis as an American patriot who accomplished “one of the most amazing feats in history” by keeping the “north at bay for four long years.”
Evelyn England, an African-American woman, worked for 12 years as a receptionist at the historic site, said some visitors, both Black and white, were surprised to see her there.
England, 62, retired this week from the $34,700 state job, and it wasn’t the friendliest of departures: State records show she was suspended for three days last month for refusing to sign a performance review, and she said she filed a racial discrimination complaint with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
A spokeswoman said the Department of Finance declined to comment on the personnel matter.

Guess what. Individuals have a constitutional right to be racist. The only thing the Constitution forbids of an individual is one cannot force slavery or involuntary servitude upon another. But “racism” - whatever that is - is not forbidden by the Constitution.
Worked the job for 12 years. Topped out salary at less than $35,000. Wants to tell the museum all the many ways they are wrong, how they have failed, and how she could run the museum better. Because, yo, she black.
This all sounds like the worst thing to happen since the Civil War. Oh, wait......
Anyone could own a slave if they had money: blacks , whites , natives , Jews and if we had any Asians at the time they could have owned slaves. It was truly an equal opportunity business venture .
The Engineering department I managed always quite generously employed students from Florida A&M at what I, who paid for it, thought was a ridiculously high rate considering how little they could contribute. Then one of them sued the company for racial discrimination. A Russian manager had asked “What for you make me do this monkey’s work?” (By this he meant review drawings, a job we had one of the black interns doing.) For an accusation like this you go to an arbitrator, in this case a black, female judge who had NEVER found in favor of a company before. At the hearing the Russian engineer walked in with a stack of translated Russian authors with yellow sticky notes protruding. He told the judge. “I was raised in Russia. I never saw black person. We didn’t even have pictures of black people. Monkey’s work is Russian saying.” He then picked up each book, named the author and flipped to each page he’d marked reading the sentence with the phrase. When he got to the third book on the huge stack, she stopped him. We won. After that everyone walked on eggs around this student.
Here’s the point. We never hired another student from FAMU. The ability to use the race card creates a dirth of jobs for other, honest blacks.
And not all slaves were blacks.

Seriously, it’s OK to mention something of slavery here. In the CSA headquarters.
But, we discovered the last few years there is already a wholesale CRT-like effort put forth by our lovely federal government regarding anything to do with Civil War sites.
Every CW site - WAR, FIGHTING, DEATH sites - has a violin-scratching entire segment in its visitor centers about slavery, ad nauseum. It’s all about slavery and how the black folk are. What it has to do with the battle sites is little. But every sign has been revised to reflect “enslaved labor(ors)” rather than “slaves” and signs added to the most mundane points in the battles as some kind of reflection on slavery.
Get off it! It’s NOT all about slavery! Soldiers getting enfiladed through from Little Round Top is NOT about slavery! There is no slave story here! (The Gettysburg VC is all-new, huge, and slathered in slavery homages.)
Really, get off it!
“Racism” is being embedded in the hearts of anybody even remotely black, thanks to the Democratic Party.
Blacks and whites get along very well in the South and even in NYC, leaving aside the thugs of either race. But why should the thugs dominate the culture?
Answer: they’re useful to the Dens.

Actually not true. Read it again. It allows prison slaves.
The Left and the Dumb Dems, driven by the spirit of antichrist, hate freedom and America and foment division with vague confusion like “racism” and sexism” to achieve their goal of Worldwide Totalitarian Government.
Given that exception, the ONLY constitutional regulation on individuals is forbidding slavery. Every federal act or law to the contrary is invalid and illegal.

Black colleges are for subpar students.
Every intelligent black I have known went to “normal” college.
It was my first semester teaching Intro to Econ at a university known for its basketball team. Two weeks before the final exam, two black players from the BB team came in and said: “We’re here for the final”. I told them the final wasn’t for two more weeks. They said: “We know that, but we get copies early so we can study it for the exam.” I said that wasn’t going to happen. They argued for a few minutes, then realized I wasn’t going to budge.
Thirty seconds later, a senior professor (a Marxist and extremely far-left politically) was in my office saying I had to give them the final. I asked why. He said because they were disadvantaged, had a hard time growing up, ...blah, blah, blah. I then asked his: Chances are these two aren’t going to the NBA, so they will find some job where their employer will quickly discover they don’t know squat about anything. He will then look on their application, see the university’s name, and will never hire another person from that school (sorta like AOC and her Econ major). He turned around and left.
I never had another athlete in any of my subsequent classes from then on.
My previous place of employment didn’t have any black workers. We had Hispanic and Asians along with the whites. We hired a black lady for our receptionist and all she did was complain. The hours, the pay, the workload on and on. She was late a lot and wanted to leave early for this reason or that reason. The boss finally had enough and fired her and never hired another black. She did herself in all on her own.
Is there a Plaque stating how he led the DEMOCRAT PARTY into a CIVIL WAR so they could keep Blacks as Slaves???
